Hotel Castaad Kitchen — Restaurant in Goa

I recently stayed at this hotel, and it turned out to be a thoroughly disappointing experience. The photos displayed on their website are completely misleading and do not reflect the reality of the rooms. The room I was provided with was poorly maintained and lacked even the most basic amenities. To make matters worse, the staff frequently turned off the power supply connected to essential appliances like the AC and geyser, making the stay extremely uncomfortable. There were no bedsheets initially, and when I requested one, I was given a dirty sheet. Upon asking for a replacement, the staff rudely refused, claiming no clean sheets were available. The room itself was unhygienic, filled with insects and bed rodents, which made it difficult to relax or sleep. Water supply was another major issue, as it was unavailable for a significant amount of time during my stay. Additionally, there was no room cleaning service provided, leaving the place in an appalling state throughout. What surprised me even more was the discrepancy between my experience and the hotel's high online ratings, which now seem highly suspicious. Castaad is an overrated local joint that you'd be well advised to stay away from from. First things first: the food. We ordered: Castaad crispy chicken (overcooked but perhaps the best of the worst) Castaad special kebabs (tasteless, underspiced, undercooked) Chicken momos & rawa fried kingfish (both customisable for kids we were told) overspiced, chewy dough for momos, extremely spicy kingfish Mutton rogan Josh - too oily to be palatable Gulab jamuns - Hard & flavorless Highly recommend keeping a two-hour wait time between order & delivery, even considering the rains, the lack of communication from the restaurant, lack of empathy towards the hungry kids & just an overall lack of feeling meant that we felt the food & the venue staff just lack soul....

The location of the restuarant is weird. It is on the second floor and the doorway or the staircase might not suggest that there is a restaurant above.

Food quality is excellent. They take time to make everything from scratch so the delivery may take more duration than your average restaurants. It is clean and hygenic and staff is nice and polite.

However, giving it is 3-star because of the owner of the place and its location. I would not go into the explanation of the former- as it is particular to me and might be a misunderstanding.

I believe for the price, quality and overall satisfaction there are better restuarants in the locality.
