The first time we walked in, we were pleasantly surprised by the warmth with which we were received. It is run by a charming couple. Within minutes, we felt that we were over at a family friend's place to eat. Kaveenash was a stop in our long quest to find a good masala dosa in South Goa. With the first bite of the masala dosa, I knew that I had arrived at my destination. As all dosa aficionados know, the batter is where the magic begins. The batter's tanginess has to be just right so that the inner steamed bit provides a tantalising contrast with the caramelised exterior. With the first bite, I knew that the tanginess was just right. The coconut chutney was made from fresh coconut. Just when I thought I had tasted bliss, I discovered a new realm. The actual masala was very different from anything I had ever eaten. After our first trip, we all remarked that there was something special about the masala. We enquired about the masala when we went back the second time. The chef, who I call now affectionately call Aunty, told me that she used shallots for the masala. It is the sweetness of the shallots that pairs so well with the lightly spiced potatoes and make the masala so special. I would have returned to Kaveenash for either the company of the food. To have both in the same place is bliss. I know that when I return to colder climes, there is only one thing that I will miss more than the balmy weather of Goa - that is a morning masala dosa at Kaveenash.

Do not miss this south Indian experience! you will have a very different home cook food experience. Once you come, you will feel at home, and welcome by Auntie and Uncle, the food is made in the open kitchen with so much love and care. The photo do not make justice to the amazing food you will have: idlis, uttapam, dosa, omelette, the best coconut chutney! Highly recommended

Food here is delicious and they took care of us as they were our parents. I would come back every morning for a very welcoming breakfast that feels homemade

The best breakfast I had during my stay in Goa. Loved the food, the place, and also aunty who made all the difference by setting a nurturing environment. She even made us coffee with coconut milk, even though it wasn't on the menu. I would highly suggest aunty to add coffee with coconut milk on the menu. One of the best coffees I have...
