Peter Tavern — Restaurant in Goa

So I recently visited this place owned by a friend and her family(update-I’ve gone there twice now). Its beautiful when you see the entire family work together. Im going to talk about Ambiance, Food and Service.

1 Ambiance: The place is very warm and welcoming and there’s enough of seating to accommodate a huge group. If you are coming in a group it is recommended to reserve a table so that you don’t have to wait.

2 Food: We tried the chicken lollipops, beef crispy, beef chilli fry, pork chilli fry, beef salt and pepper and stuffed mushrooms. All of them were on point. I normally do not like chicken lollipops, because the chicken is always undercooked at most places but when I took a bite of that lollipop I was stunned, the batter was crispy and the chicken inside was cooked to the bone the Schezwan sauce was spicy. Every time I ordered the lollipop the taste and consistency was the same. The rest of the dishes were a mouth full of flavours.

3 Service: This is the most important thing in place even if the place and the food are good a place can fall apart if the service is bad. We were a group of 12 the whole place was packed but not once did we have to wait the food, ice, drinks mixers everything ordered was delivered fast.

This sweet little tavern has, within a couple of months of opening, become the favourite watering hole and hang out for the area, local Goan or not. Third generation enterprise saw this former garage being converted into the warm, cozy and welcoming place we know so well and love so much already. Ninoshka runs the place with a warm smile and she’s always around, chatting with guests and looking after their orders. The menu is limited but service is tops. This is one of those places to order an entire bottle of booze (provided everyone has the same choice of alcohol) especially if you are in a group. We tried the beef chilly, chicken lollipop, crispy chicken, chicken wings, cheese stuffed mushrooms and golden fried squid, all good (except the lollipops which were a bit uncooked inside). I am always on the lookout for local, low-key restobars with great ambiance, lighting, and vibe, and Peters Tavern is one of my top three favorites in Goa. The decor is simple yet elegant, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The lighting is soft and warm, making for a comfortable dining experience.
