In a span of 3-4 months weβve visited thrice. And all three times were different.
In these span of months, the server doesnβt know what the contents of a dish. He has to go and ask the kitchen staff and never comes out with an answer.
The Goan Chilli Chicken was Delish! Weβve tried their Rechaedo Prawns fry. 3/5. Burnt rechaedo. Bitter Masala.
We had their chicken pakoda twice. First time was good. Second time uncooked thick batter inside with a cube of chicken that was tiny. PS, it came faster than a cut cucumber salad.
We tried their Dynamite Chicken. Nothing much to rave.
The reason why i give the 2 stars is because we asked for a blenders pride half. It was a sealed bottle. We made our drinks. And it tasted funky. On checking th bottle we see the manufacturing date was 2017. Which still wouldβve been ok provided they bottle was stored properly. The drink tasted like mildewy or (baato in Konkani). When we told the waiter he was quick to tell us and I quote βBaba it gets better with age but anyway if you want Iβll replace itβ. We had poured a quarter already and asked him to charge us even though we hadnβt consumed it. It was still in our glass. If this was a place where service was given importance, we wouldnβt be charged. But anywho, we drank the next pegs. Once the prawns came, we were ticked off and packed everything and left to another restaurant in old goa.
We wonβt be...
Β Β Β Read moreThis gem of a restaurant located on the serene island of Divar in Goa is a culinary delight. The entire restaurant is hewn into a rock and hence the name Rock Inn. Itβs pretty easy to find once youβre on the island. The food at the restaurant is very delicious, fresh and not expensive. We visited the restaurant on the 27, Feb 2022 in the afternoon and it was completely empty. It did start filling up a little later in the afternoon though. We had the King fish fry & the Xinaneao which were absolutely yummy. We also ordered the prawns curry rice which was okay, there could have been a few more prawns in the curry. The fish thali is another specialty that you should try when your there. Our server Deepesh was just superb, besides serving us he also got us the newspaper and by the time we left he had also shared his Konkani YouTube playlist with us. When we finally got the bill, we were astonished at the total, we actually checked if all the items were added and if it was totaled correctly. Rock Inn is a must visit place if you are in Goa instead of visiting some of those fancy restaurants β great service and total value for money. We are definitely coming back there, along with our friends the next time we are in Goa. Just a word of caution β cash & UPI are the only accepted payment methods & they are closed on the last Monday...

Strange place as it is located in a prime spot with beautiful geological rock formations on three sides.
One end is stacked up with chairs, the side is stacked up with garbage & there are empty bottles crated up in every spare space (none of it pretty) .
The owner Mr. Dilip & his Wife/Chef were so friendly and the food - I had a snack of "Chicken Lollipops" - were huge, succulent and not pureed & stuck on an old bone like many Beach Shacks do......π¨π¨π¨π¨
Then the Matriarch brought me a gift to try - Godhsao - dhal with cardoman, nutmeg, cinnamon, coconut & coconut milk - absolutely delicious. πππππ
Checked recipe on Internet and nearest I could find was "Manganem"

It is rather dirty and littered with garbage & empty bottles thrown around & stacked up everywhere outside which is a "crying shame".
With very little investment the outdoor seating/dining area could use the rock formations properly to make an experience "not to be missed"..... πππ
Mr. Dilip :- ππ PLEASE TRY & DO IT ππ IT WOULD MAKE SUCH A DIFFERENCE
π¨π¨...BEWARE :- Internet connection, etc is absolutely "zip" in...
