Being a Goan myself, I have tried several restaurants in the Panjim area, and I must say this is one of the best places to experience the real taste of Goan food.
Unlike most of the beachside restaurants that claim to offer authentic Goan dishes but often serve mediocre food, Sai Family Restaurant truly stands out. The flavors, the spices, and the overall preparation are just perfectly Goan — exactly how it should taste!
The prices are very affordable, and the ambiance is quite pleasant, making it a great place for family gatherings or casual hangouts. The staff is also very friendly and welcoming.
The only downside is the limited parking space. They can accommodate around 7 cars, and on weekends, it can be challenging to find parking. However, the delicious food and overall experience definitely make up for this minor inconvenience.

The cozy, family-run restaurant is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Goan flavors. Their special fish thali is hands down one of the best I’ve had in a while—fresh fish, rich curry, and all the classic accompaniments that taste like home. Priced at ₹290, it’s worth every penny, and they also offer budget-friendly thalis starting at ₹150.🌟👍
Apart from the thali, the butter garlic chicken lollipops are a standout—packed with flavor and just the right amount of indulgence. While the chicken cutlets and cafreal didn’t wow me, the squid masala is a great pick if you enjoy sweeter flavors.
The homely vibe, coupled with great food and chilled beer, makes it the perfect spot to soak in the true sushegad essence of Goa.👌
🕰️Timings: 12pm - 4pm & 7pm - 11pm (Open all days)
💰Approx cost for 2: ₹500 - ₹800
