Chopati Beach — Restaurant in Gujarat

Say Porbandar Beach or Porbandar's Chowpatty or Porbandar City's Heart, it's the only place that stands in the same place is the picturesque beaches of Porbandar. This place of Porbandar is very famous not only in Porbandar City but also in all the surrounding areas. The place is located at walking distance from the Porbandar ST bus stand and is located at a distance of about 2 km from Porbandar City. There are two doors to two different places to come here. The place is located about 3 to 5 kilometers. It has a very nice walking road in an area of 2 kilometers. In the morning and evening, people come to do activities like walking and running. There are nice benches to sit around the walking area. It is great fun to see the sunrise in the morning and the sunset in the evening here. A big fair is held here at the festival of Janmashtami. People from far and wide come to enjoy this fair. Apart from this, the same scene is created here on Sundays and nights like the fair. Nestled in between the Veraval and Dwarka, Porbandar beach lies towards the southwest coast of the state of Gujarat. It is mostly known across the country for its various tourist attractions. It has an ancient port that enhances its beauty and implication. Porbandar is the birth place of Mahatama Gandhi, the father of the nation. Other than this, this place is also believed to be the birth place of Sudama, who was a close friend and devotee of Lord Krishna. Earlier during the British rule in India, this place was a part of the opulent states. The remains of ancient seawalls and ports along the Porbandar brook certify that the city was earlier a center of marine activities.

Porbandar was earlier a flourishing trade center for centuries and merchandized with Arab, Persian and East African countries under the rule of British, Mughals and Marathas. And today there are lots of chemical and cement factories located on the outskirts of the town. The history of this place is linked with many great historical personalities.

Beach of Porbandar (પોરબંદર ની ચોપાટી) is known as chawpati like Mumbai. But Porbandar chowpati is far better than Mumbai as it is well developed by local municipal corporation. Ample parking space is available for two and four wheeler. Vehicle is not allowed on main beach road however children and kids are allowed to bring their bicycles. Benches are placed across beach and you can peacefully seat and enjoy vibrant sunrise and sunset. I would prefer to seat at stare at sky to look for shining stars. Really it gives lot of peace and energy.

As far as food are concerned, lords restaurant is just located on beach side. Many years ago street food vendors were allowed on beach side but now they are not allowed as it makes place for crowded and dirty. Now street food vendor are allowed to stand on one side corner only which is good decision to me.

Since last 35 years I am regular visitor of this place, earlier I was to be guided by my family and now I do visit as guardian but the place is as beautiful as earlier.

Now swimming club is also running there and from children to senior citizens all are learning and enjoy lot.
