Food Party at Baba deep Singh!
Note: Dine-in available only from Mon-Fri
Ever since visiting it the first time along with my friends in December 2019, our thirst for trying it again after the Corona lockdown was unstoppable. After completing our graduation and other stuff, we all went to these place and it became a meeting point for a small reunion.
We were a group of 10 members. Our order was:
Paneer Bhurji: The taste was very good and gave us a glimpse of essence of Punjab. I found it a bit sour than the previous time.
Paneer Tikka: Small pieces of Paneer along with the gravy, which was same as of Paneer Bhurji.
Sev Tameta: Though it's purely a Gujarati dish, it is presented and modified in a well manner with essence of garlic. This too was slightly sour in taste this time.
Palak Paneer with extra Tadka: I normally don't prefer to eat Palak curries, but this caught up my attention immediately. It was looking stunning with red chilli oil combined with small chunks of fried garlic. It took the limit bar so high among the others.
Dal Makhani with extra Tadka: I am really a fan of Dal Makhani especially at this place. Never miss out on this dish when you come here no matter what. The taste was phenomenal and way too delicious. (We ordered atleast 3 plates of the above dishes.)
Dal Tadka: We ordered one plate at the end with rice. The flavours combined very well and Tadka was of Cummin with red chillies.
To eat along with the curries, we ordered Butter Naan, Lasaniya Paratha, Missi Roti and Butter Roti.
Special mention: Buttermilk. Being a Gujarati, we never miss out on Buttermilk ever. We ordered two big jugs among ourselves.
Atlast, my friends ordered their special lassi. The glass is too large and three friends finished it after such a heavy meal.
The place is very popular and large crowds are fascinated by the service and the quality of their food. Many people come specially to this place from a distant city to try their delicacies. No need to mention it's very famous among the highway drivers as well as localities around.
People who haven't tried it yet must visit immediately. It's best if you go along with your family members or friends. Larger the group, greater the...
Read moreAfter reading a lot of positive reviews and being a hardcore punjabi food lover, visited the dhaba and tried their Dal makhni and egg curry. Dal makhni was OK OK but it was not that much authentic and good as I was expecting from such a well known Punjabi dhaba. May be now they changed the taste as chefs change occassionally...
I was disappointed with the taste of egg curry. It could hardly be called as tasty or authentic punjabi type egg curry.. may be I can cook and teach them how to cook better. Gravy was having the taste I dont want to remember anymore.
Overall I cant say that the food was that bad looking at the price as most of the Ahmedabad eateries fool in name of Punjabi food that too at a very high price. That way this Dhaba was better ...but looking at popularity of this dhaba, my expectations were pretty higher side which failed. Food is not that much good as per my experience so that people visit by their name and fame spending their time, petrol and money.
However, I will give a second try to prove myself wrong..may be the problem may be with same day I visited ...will soon share my second opinion..
Edit 2- Tasteless Egg curry. Why they are so popular is I couldn't get.
Edit 3- They open after 11-11.30 am so don't reach before. Timing showed by google was starting from 9 am but they told me that the hotel starts at 11 ...so better u reach at 11.30 am ...dont expect...

I visited Deep Singh Dhaba on Monday with mixed expectations. While it was a decent experience, it didn't live up to the hype.
Pros Typical Dhaba Ambiance: Cozy outdoor seating and AC hall options, with outdoor seating being the highlight. Reasonable Prices: Affordable rates make it a great value-for-money option. Family-Friendly: Suitable for family outings and gatherings with friends.
Cons Average Food Quality: Dishes were satisfactory but lacked exceptional flavor or presentation. Overly Oily: Most subzis had excessive oil, making it unsuitable for health-conscious individuals.
Food Review We tried:
Panner Kadai: Average Kolapuri Veg: Decent Garlic Naan: Good Roti: Soft and fresh Chass: Refreshing Lassi: Creamy Dal Tadka: Decent Dudh Sev Subzi: Average
Recommendations Ideal for casual family gatherings or friend meetups. Not recommended for health-conscious individuals due to excessive oil in dishes.
Verdict Deep Singh Dhaba offers a typical dhaba experience with reasonable prices. While food quality is average, the ambiance and affordability make it a decent choice for...
