Disappointing Experience at Honest Restaurant (Near Porbandar)

My visit to the Honest chain of restaurants near Porbandar was far from pleasant. Despite the name, there’s honestly nothing "honest" about the food or the experience. If you're expecting traditional Gujarati cuisine, you'll be disappointed. They mostly serve generic and poor imitations of Punjabi and South Indian dishes, and even those are questionable. For example, the so-called Mysore Masala Dosa came drowned in Schezwan sauce — far from authentic.

Breakfast was even more disappointing — frozen idlis reheated in the microwave, served with watery chutney and a cup of sambar in an open courtyard. It felt lazy and unwelcoming. The tea was below average, and certainly not the kind you'd want to start your day with.

Cleanliness is a major issue. The staff makes little effort to maintain hygiene, and the toilets are extremely dirty and smelly — a big turnoff for anyone stopping here during travel. There's also no clean drinking water available, which is unacceptable at any eatery.

Being located on the highway, it’s often crowded with buses stopping, and large groups of people coming in at once. It becomes very noisy and chaotic, making it impossible to eat in peace.

If you're in Porbandar, I would recommend finding a local thela (street vendor) or heading into the city for better, cleaner, and more authentic food. This place may work if you’re desperate and have no other option — in that case, just hope no buses stop when you’re eating.

Not recommended unless there’s truly no...

The worst food service till date , unruly , inattentive staff ruins my opinion of the Honest food chain , after their failure to provide food as ordered , we had to leave on EMPTY STOMACH after waiting an hour for the food and when it was served after 60 minutes , non jain food was served to the jain people . Unacceptable.

On briging this and other issues to their notice we decided to leave and were told " food provided is a gift , compliments of the staff " ( these are the exact words )

Speaking to other members on the staff , it was known that other's too had to experience the same mismanagement and hassle on a previous day.

This is one restaurant outlet you can...

I recently stayed at the Grand Hotel, and I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The location was fantastic - just a short walk from the city center and surrounded by a variety of dining and shopping options. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and always went above and beyond to make sure I had a comfortable stay. The room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed with all the amenities I needed. I especially appreciated the comfortable bed and the strong, steady Wi-Fi connection. Overall, I would highly recommend the Grand Hotel to anyone looking for a top-notch hotel in the heart...
