Where do I start with. This place is great from all aspects; the food, the ambience, service all up to the mark - and off the three, food is the best part.
Starting off with food: Amazing food, both veg and non-veg, it will leave your taste buds to crave for more. Each dish with a unique taste and blend to it. The meat (mutton) was never over/under cooked and each time was made with perfection. Even the chicken dishes were succulent and were one of the best that I have ever had. And if you are a seafood lover, then look no further, they have some of the best dishes to offer. The Cafe menu, the coffee are also a must try for all the coffee lovers. There is also a special breakfast menu served between 7 to 11 A.M.
Ambiance: The ambiance is nice and cozy and feels relaxing. The dining area upstairs is the best place, but that does not limit to the lovely cafe area downstairs. You can even enjoy your meals in the outside area, during night. However, it can still be made better using some shade and it can help with the rain and sun.
Service: Service was prompt and the average waiting time was not more than 10-15mins. The staff was good and helping and prompt to help.
Based on my visits so far, I would recommend giving a try to the Breakfast menu served during morning. Apart from that, I recommend:
Starters: Malai Paneer Tikka Kashmiri Mutton Chaap Tandoori Chicken (Try the Malai Tandoori too, if you are looking for a less spicy adventure) 4. Tandoori Pomfret (the best!) or Fish Fry, if looking for hassle free boneless fish fillet. :-)
Main Course: Paneer Chaman/Paneer Kali Mirch Veg Jaipuri or Malai Kofta, if you are looking for something "not paneer" :-) Do try Murg Kali Mirch, it is one of the best preparations they have to offer Rara Gosht (a must try) and Nalli Nihari Doi Maach is my personal favorite and I simply can't have enough of it You can also order for "Raan" a day in advance, and this is one of the few places in Vadodara that would not leave you disappointed
Rice/Dal Preparations: To be honest, I usually avoid veg Biryanis (veg pulao technically); but I gotta give the credit to chef for making me go for it. :-) Dal fry/Tadka are also great to complete your lunch/dinner.You can go for Mutton/Chicken Dum Biryani, based on your preference, both are heavenly.
Do visit this place and try...
Read moreThe basic qualities(apart from food) for a good restaurant are waiting -time and staff's attentiveness.
The first time we visited this place with my family. It was a quick visit. We got our food packed and left. However, I was very much impressed by the detailing in their food Menu. They have many varieties of food on the base of the region and we decided to visit this place again.
Next time we visited this place with some guest on a Sunday evening. It was a big mistake. At the dining area, no one was ready to take our order, because there were only two waiters and they were busy handling a group of 10 people. I kept requesting the waiter to take our orders. Waiters gave their attention to us after 30 minutes. they took the order and delivered it after 30 minutes. food was good, but we had to wait or 15 minutes or every roti. Even they were not able to serve water in demand. They serve our starter after the main course. I must say the food was good but waiting and waiters non-responsiveness killed all the excitement of the food. My guest didn't say anything on my ace but they were disappointed with my choice of restaurant. Our Sunday eve was ruined.
I told this to the floor manager, his excuse was "staff Kam hai to hum kya kare". That was a not acceptable excuse by any mean. We will not...
Read moreThis location is quite familiar to me as there used to be another eat-out place called âHot Stuffâ and this was quite a popular hangout during my school days.
I first came to know about âKali Mirchâ from a facebook foodie group where someone had rated the non-vegetarian dishes as worth trying.
It was next day to Diwali when I first entered the restaurant. I found that we were the only people except the staff but when I left the restaurant was almost full. To be honest I was little sceptical when I entered the restaurant. As I was looking for a place to sit the restaurant manager guided me upstairs where the actual eating area is. Contrary to how it appears from outside and the entrance, the eating area is quite comfortable and colourful.
I ordered for a Tomato Shorba, Paneer Chilli and a Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani. Iâd rate Shorba 2.5 out of 5, Paneer Chilli 3.5 out of 5 and Hyderabadi Biriyani was 4.5 out of 5. The food especially non-veg preparation is quite good, service is quick. Ambience could have been better if they had provided some arrangement to infuse fresh air by getting the kichen Aroma out of the dining place but good air conditioning available.
So overall on a scale of 5 Iâd rate food is value for money so 4 out of 5, Ambience 3.5 out of 5,...
