Food Review: Lala Raghuvashi Parotha House, Chotila Mandir
This is the original Lala Raghuvashi Parotha House, a legendary spot known for its unbeatable value and authentic flavors. A must-visit for anyone heading to or returning from Chotila Mandir Darshan, this place serves a hearty, soul-satisfying meal that is hard to match.
For just ₹140, you’re treated to an unlimited feast featuring their signature 10 different varieties of fresh salads, 4 types of tangy and spicy aachar, and a jar full of cooling, unlimited chaas.
One of the highlights here is the variety of sabjis they offer. Specializing in Sev Tomato, Baingan Bharta, Paneer Sabji, Rasa Wala Aloo, Mix Veg, and the comforting Kadhi Khichdi. And papad the menu is a perfect blend of rustic and homely flavors. Each dish is prepared fresh, bursting with spices and a hint of tradition in every bite. The Kadhi Khichdi, in particular, stands out as the ultimate comfort food, making you feel at home.
The price may have risen from ₹80 (a nostalgic memory for many) to ₹140, but the experience remains priceless. The simplicity of the setup, the welcoming service, and the wholesome taste of the food make it an unforgettable experience.
Revisiting this gem after many years brought back so many fond memories. Whether you’re traveling with family or friends, this place guarantees you leave with a full stomach, a happy heart, and a touch of nostalgia.

Read moreI had the absolute pleasure of dining at Lala Raghupanshi Parotha House during my recent trip, and I must say it's an absolute gem among travelers! This charming and well-known restaurant, conveniently situated along the bustling Ahmedabad - Rajkot highway in Chotila, offers an incredibly enticing deal - an unlimited Gujarati thali for just 130 rupees, which is roughly equivalent to a mere 1.5 US Dollars!
The culinary experience here was nothing short of extraordinary. Each dish on the thali was bursting with authentic Gujarati flavors, and the variety was astounding. From the fragrant dhoklas to the mouthwatering undhiyu, every bite was a delight for the taste buds.
Beyond the delectable food, the service was impeccable. The staff was not only attentive but also genuinely friendly, making our dining experience all the more enjoyable.
Furthermore, the restaurant's ambiance exuded warmth and authenticity, making it a perfect spot for both solo travelers and families. It felt like a true culinary journey through Gujarat's rich culinary heritage.
I wholeheartedly recommend Lala Raghupanshi Parotha House to anyone passing through this area. It's not just a great value; it's a culinary adventure that you won't want to miss. Do yourself a favor and make it a priority stop on your journey – you won't be...
Read moreGame toh sau no kejo, na game toh Amne kejo...tagline invites all to Lala Raghuvanshi parotha house...at Chotila. When coming from Ahmedabad, the first one on left is original outlet, which claims it has no other branches. Unless been recommended, it's a kind of place less likely to have entered & we would have missed experiencing the great hospitality of the place. Awesome spread of Indian salads & colorful friams, looks appealing to both eyes & taste buds. Infact just like I do in US Pizza, my max food portion was salad only of cabbage, raw papaya, carrot, chilli, 🍅, cucumber, beet etc. It was basic Kathiyawadi/Gujarati food comprising tomato Sev, rassa bataka, undhiyo, kathol, gatta, bharwa baingan accompanied with fried chillies, rotla/roti & chaas. Not a fan of Gujarati daal- bhat, but here I was licking both my fingers and plate. Scope of wastage was minimal due to portion size & choice of curry's were limited to only two.Despite huge footfall esp due to being Sunday and marriage season, they served with lots of love(aagrah). Which is also the reason that like swarming flies people were thronging it despite the place being chockablock and surrounding eateries were running empty. So my verdict on this eatery is must eat for fresh, tasty & pocket friendly...
