‼️LIFE-THREATENING EXPERIENCE at Merasa Restaurant (Bopal-Shela Area)‼️

I’m still in shock and deeply disturbed by what happened on the evening of 12th June 2025 at Merasa Restaurant in Bopal, Shela area. What was supposed to be a simple dinner outing turned into one of the most horrifying and health-threatening experiences of my life.

A friend and I walked in, tempted by the exterior which looked decent and inviting. However, the moment we stepped inside, we realized how misleading the outer appearance was. The ambience was unhygienic, dull, and clearly neglected — the kind you would call a ‘Kaam-chalaau’ setup at best. The staff looked untrained, uninterested, and completely lacking in any basic service etiquette.

We ordered cold coffees, expecting a refreshing treat. But what we got was utterly revolting — a glass of poison disguised as coffee.

We drank about 20–30% of it before we suddenly felt a strange texture. To our absolute disgust, the coffee was filled with bits of plastic, paper, and God knows what else. We immediately stopped drinking and inspected the glass closely — and what we saw made our stomachs turn. It was not just unhygienic; it was a serious health hazard.

And now, just a day later, I’m down with high fever and physical discomfort, unsure of what’s happening inside my body after consuming that filth. I shudder to think what could’ve happened had we finished that drink.

But what broke me even more was the casual, heartless response from their staff when I called them to report it. Instead of showing concern or urgency, they laughed it off, saying “Arre kuch nahi hota... mai bhi pi leta hoon.” Is this the level of accountability they have for someone’s life?

As a customer, I trusted them with my health — and they betrayed that trust in the worst possible way. This is not just bad service — this is criminal negligence. A restaurant’s FIRST responsibility is to serve food and drinks that are safe for consumption. They failed. Miserably. Dangerously.

💀 I urge everyone reading this — do NOT risk your life by stepping into this place. Your life, your health, your family’s safety — is worth far more than a cup of coffee in such a careless, pathetic establishment.

🔴 I will be reporting this to food safety authorities and urge others who’ve faced similar experiences to speak up. Such places should not be allowed to function until they are held accountable and made to follow strict hygiene protocols.

Merasa Restaurant and Cafe Ahmedabad is a place that offers a variety of dishes and drinks in a cozy and elegant setting. However, my experience there was not as great as I expected, considering the hype around it. Here are some of the pros and cons of this restaurant:

Pros: The ambience and atmosphere of the restaurant are very good. The decor is modern and stylish, and the lighting is warm and inviting. The restaurant has a spacious and comfortable seating area, and a live music performance on some nights. The food was fairly good in terms of taste and quality. We ordered lasagna, chilli paneer, and two pizzas. The lasagna was cheesy and creamy, the chilli paneer was spicy and tangy, and the pizzas were thin and crispy. The We-desi pizza, which had a fusion of Indian and Italian flavors, was a hit and miss among us. Some of us liked it, while others found it too weird.

Cons: The drinks were a bit off for me. I ordered a mojito, which was supposed to be a refreshing and minty drink, but it tasted more like water with some lemon juice and sugar. It lacked the flavor and fizz of a proper mojito. The service was far from satisfactory. We had to wait for a long time to get our orders, and we had to ask for everything, from napkins to cutlery to water. The staff seemed to be busy and distracted, and they did not pay much attention to our needs. We also had to remind them several times to bring us the bill. We complained about the poor service, and they apologized, but it did not make up for the inconvenience.

Overall, our experience at Merasa Restaurant and Cafe Ahmedabad was average, compared to the word we heard in the town. It could have been much better if they improved their drinks and service. I would not recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a smooth and satisfying...

Disappointing Experience – Poor Service, Food Quality, and Management

I had booked a table at [Mersa Restaurant] for Valentine’s Day on February 8th, paying ₹3,499 in advance. Unfortunately, the experience was nothing short of a disaster. Unresponsive Management – Upon arriving at the restaurant, the manager, Mr. Pritam, who initially took the booking, completely ignored us. After multiple attempts to get his attention, we were finally given a table. Terrible Service – We waited 30 minutes before anyone even offered us water or took our order. When we finally placed our order, we were shocked to find that the menu had been changed without any prior notice. Long Waiting Time & Poor Food Quality – After placing our order, we waited an hour before receiving our food, only to be served cold and unappetizing dishes with awful plating. The plates themselves looked dirty and unpresentable. False Promises & Lack of Professionalism – Part of the package included a bouquet of flowers, which was never given to us despite reminding the staff over 10 times. It was finally handed to us at 11:30 PM, long after it should have been presented. To make matters worse, the main course and starters were served together at this time, making it impossible to enjoy the meal properly. Unprofessional & Rude Manager – When I raised concerns about the inedible food, the restaurant manager, Mr. Pritam, responded in an arrogant and unprofessional manner, showing complete disregard for customer satisfaction. Overall, [mersa restaurant] completely ruined what was supposed to be a special evening. This level of mismanagement, poor service, and bad food quality is unacceptable. I would never recommend this place to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience. Thank you, Mersa, for ruining my...

Restaurant Merasa in Bopal is a gem for dining with family or friends. The ambiance is delightful, with both open-air and covered seating options surrounded by greenery, creating a serene atmosphere. It’s an especially great spot for families, as the spacious setup allows kids to play and enjoy themselves. We tried North Indian dishes and pasta, and the food was nothing short of amazing. The flavors were authentic, perfectly balanced, and the presentation was impressive. It’s clear they prioritize quality and freshness. The staff was courteous and attentive, ensuring a comfortable dining experience. The service was prompt, and they were happy to cater to our specific needs. Overall, Merasa combines exceptional food, a family-friendly vibe, and a relaxing environment, making it one of the best restaurants in the Bopal and South Bopal area. Highly recommended for a memorable dining experience!
