As a vegetarian, finding a restaurant that offers authentic Punjabi food made with vegetarian ingredients can sometimes be a challenge. However, my search ended when I discovered this gem of a restaurant specializing in vegetarian Punjabi cuisine. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat.
The menu at the restaurant showcased a range of vegetarian delights, each packed with the bold and robust flavors that Punjabi cuisine is renowned for. One of the standout dishes was the Dal Makhani, a creamy and velvety lentil curry that was perfectly seasoned and slow-cooked to perfection. The rich flavors of the spices and the melt-in-your-mouth texture of the lentils created a truly satisfying experience.
Another highlight was the Paneer Tikka, marinated and grilled cubes of homemade cottage cheese that were bursting with smoky flavors. The paneer was incredibly tender, and the marinade infused it with a delightful combination of spices. Served alongside fresh mint chutney, it was a flavorful and satisfying appetizer.
The restaurant also offered a variety of bread options, including fluffy and buttery naans and crispy yet soft tandoori rotis. These breads were the perfect accompaniment to the flavorful curries, allowing me to savor every bite.
The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting, with a warm and cozy atmosphere. The staff were friendly, attentive, and passionate about the cuisine they served. They provided excellent service, ensuring that every dish was prepared with care and presented beautifully.
For anyone seeking vegetarian Punjabi food that is authentic, flavorful, and satisfying, I highly recommend this restaurant. The attention to detail, the bold flavors, and the warm hospitality create an...

Visited this place after 13 years and still it keeps the charm. Only two things have changed. And that is not in this place , they both are mine.
It was quite Saturday night and rainy atmosphere, keeping most people out of this place, but as I noticed, it offers maharaja style seats under the hood. But we still choose our traditional Khatla style.
What did we order, well that’s a silly question to ask. Of course the signature dish Dal Bati, and remember the words two things have changed, yes, that’s in me I ordered Swaminarayan Dal bati. Keeping it charm out of the dish. But I will salute the bati. And will give the dal giving a miss. Yup, if you are a Jain eater, you may not like this place. Or order something else. Along with menu we ordered, churmo and Chass. Both came in time except chas had a plastic in it which was unfortunate landed in my glass.
Overall timing among dishes was close to perfect keeping staff attention to detail keeping location and place in mind to its mark.
No, pan nasal around or right at the door step keeping most...
Read moreNaam Bade, Darshan Chhote – Ek Dhaba Experience Jo Kabhi Bhool Nahi Sakte!
Zindagi mein kuch experiences dil pe chhaap chhod jaate hain — kuch acche, kuch bure. Par yeh jo experience tha, woh toh sirf "naam bade, darshan chhote" ki perfect example hai. Aaj aapko ek aise dhabbe ki kahani sunate hain, jisme hum dinner karne gaye the, lekin waha mil gaya frustration ka unlimited thali!
Sab kuch shuru hota hai ek simple plan se — dinner karne jaa rahe the ek "famous" dhaba pe, jiska naam sabki zubaan par tha. Socha ki authentic desi vibe milega, garma-garam khana milega, aur woh rustic feel jo sirf dhabbe pe hi milta hai. Par bhai sahab, yeh toh ultimate scam nikla!
Tables dirty, ek bhi staff saamne nahi, aur jo waiter aakhir aaya, uski body language aise jaise humne uski neend disturb kar di ho.
Baithne ke baad socha, chalo khana to accha hoga... but oh boy, woh toh sirf sapna hi tha!
Order Aur Intezar – Sabse Badi Galti Order diya – ekdum basic order, dal bati, butter naan, sev tamatar, papad, soup. Bas, aur kuch nahi. Socha tha 15-20 minute mein aayega, par yeh intezaar toh kabhi khatam hi nahi hua. 30 minute beet gaye, phir 45 minute, phir ek ghanta! Beech mein waiter se 2-3 baar pucha, toh woh sirf ek line bolta tha – "Bana rahe hain, sir." Arre bhai, itna kya bana rahe ho, Taj Mahal thodi na khada kar rahe ho!
Ek ghante baad, ek plate aayi – woh bhi adhoora order. Dal bati ke liye ghee toh aaya hi nahi, aur aise laa rahe the jaise hum unpe ehsaan kar rahe ho. Naan toh aise lag raha tha jaise kisi ne 2 din pehle bana ke rakha ho. Taste ki baat karein toh bas ek hi shabd mein kahenge – “ghatiya”.
Service – Kisne Banaya Yeh System? Waise toh dhaba waale bhaiya ko customer-friendly hona chahiye, par yahan toh sab ulta tha. Waiter se request karo toh woh ignore kar de. 100 baar bulao toh ek baar bhi naa aaye. Manager se baat karne bole toh manager invisible nikla. Bhai, galat toh maine yeh soch liya ki yeh famous dhaba hai!
Cleanliness – Hygiene Ka Naam Nahi Sabse zyada shocking tha waha ki cleanliness. Dhaba hai, toh thoda rough look toh samajh mein aata hai, but yeh toh hadd se zyada tha. Table ke upar bachi hui curry ke daag, cutlery pe water stains, aur plates jo dhuli hui nahi lag rahi thi. Washbasin toh aisa tha ki ek baar dekhne ke baad haath dhone ka mann hi nahi kiya.
Bill Bharne Ka Dukh Sabse bada jhatka toh tab laga jab bill aaya. Paise barbad – bas itna hi bolenge. Jo quality mili, uske hisaab se toh 50% discount bhi zyada hota. Lekin full bill le liya, aur customer se zero respect mila. Jab feedback dene ki koshish ki, toh staff ki attitude dekhne layak thi – jaise unko koi farq hi nahi padta.
Verdict – Ek Aakhri Baar Is experience ke baad ek hi lesson mila – "Naam ke peeche mat jao, taste ke peeche jao." Ab se kisi bhi dhabe ke “famous” hone par doubt karna seekh liya. Itna kharab service, taste aur cleanliness toh roadside stall par bhi nahi hota. Free mein bhi koi bole toh main yahan wapas nahi jaaunga.
Moral of the story: Agar paisa aur time dono ki value hai, toh...
