Review of Panchgaon: A Proudly Desi Vegetarian Delight
Nestled in the heart of our city, Panchgaon is a refreshing culinary gem that truly embodies the essence of desi vibes. As soon as you step inside, you’re greeted with vibrant decor and an inviting atmosphere that instantly transports you to the bustling streets of India. This all-vegetarian restaurant celebrates the rich tapestry of Indian cuisine while maintaining an unwavering commitment to authenticity.
Our visit to Panchgaon was filled with excitement and anticipation, especially after hearing rave reviews about their unique offerings. We started our gastronomic journey with a selection of chaats, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint! Each bite was a burst of flavors – the tangy tamarind chutney, the crunch of the sev, and the freshness of the ingredients combined beautifully to create a delightful medley that left us wanting more.
Next up was the bheega kulcha, which was generously stuffed and served warm. The soft, fluffy texture paired perfectly with the accompanying tangy chutney. It was a comforting dish, reminiscent of home-cooked meals, and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite.
The star of our meal was undoubtedly the Panch Khichdi. This dish was a hearty combination of rice and lentils, cooked to perfection with a medley of spices. It was wholesome and filling, embodying the traditional flavors of Indian comfort food. We appreciated the care and attention that went into its preparation, making it a true representation of desi culinary traditions.
We couldn’t resist trying the grand parantha, which is designed to serve a whole family. While the presentation was absolutely stunning, resembling a culinary masterpiece, the flavor unfortunately fell a bit short of our expectations. It had the potential to be a showstopper, but it lacked the depth of taste we were hoping for. However, the beautiful plating and generous portion size made it a feast for the eyes.
Overall, Panchgaon is a fantastic spot for anyone looking to indulge in vegetarian Indian cuisine. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, making it an excellent choice for family gatherings or casual outings with friends. While some dishes may not have hit the mark in terms of flavor, the experience was enjoyable, and we left with full bellies and smiles on our faces.
I would highly recommend Panchgaon to anyone craving a taste of desi culture and cuisine. With its vibrant atmosphere and commitment to vegetarian dishes, it’s a place where you can savor the essence of India, one plate at a time. Looking forward to our next visit to explore more...

Whether it was the aromatic biryanis, flavorful curries, or the succulent tandoori grills, every bite was a delightful experience.

Read moreAfter years of waiting and mismatched schedules we finally made it to PanchGaon. Various recommendations and the hyped hearsay deeming the food to be nothing short of great by our vegetarian friends. Did it live up to its hype… continue reading and find out more.
On the outskirts of Gurgaon and about 13kms from the Gurgaon Maanesar toll plaza, PanchGaon can to some seek like a mini getaway for food. There’s plenty of parking on weekdays although the weekend is going to be packed (still don’t know why). There’s an electric train for kids to ride around in at 150/child for a few rounds around the parking. There’s even a camel 🐪 that you can hop on if you’re feeling like it (maybe seasonal). A small arcade on the side too for anyone that’s interested and a small shopping place where you can get some imported items (I’m not sure of the authenticity so please check on your own).
You’ve got a welcoming person at the front who folds his hand in namaste for you as you enter. The restaurant has a high ceiling and plenty of aircons to keep it nice and cool with very few dead spots thanks to the plethora of vents spread across. The menu is North Indian with some Chinese, choice of Dosas, Pizzas, Burgers and Fries etc. Oh and their signature 20” parantha with a stack of vegetables and curd/ sweet on the sides.
However, the food isn’t something that’s going to impress you. The parantha was loaded with cheese and dry fruits (hmm way to ruin a parantha), the noodles we ordered were bland and felt they’d been soaked for God knows how long. The Honey Chilli potatoes were the only decent thing from our food that was about alright. But what’s concerning is that all the food was served within a matter of around 3-4 mins which raises concerns to me of how fresh the food is. It’s as if they’re only interested in appealing to the masses and therefore food quality is compromised. Personally, none of us enjoyed our meal and were left disappointed. The hype is over and the food isn’t something I’d ever go back for at PanchGaon. But that’s my opinion and you may want to experience it yourself. The...
