Read decent reviews of Urban Tadka and went to the restaurant for lunch with family on a visit to Hissar. Points as below The foyer stinks of rotting meat, and the tables are not wiped clean. See images of the cloth they use to wipe cutlery before use. The drinking water tastes musty and you MUST order packaged drinking water if you value your health Condiments arrive at the table as an afterthought. The mayonnaise served was hardly recognizable as mayo and I hope I never have to taste something as horrible again. 4.we ordered half tandoori chicken and received barely 180 g of chicken. As can be seen in the image, the entire portion will be less than 1/4 of a standard dinner plate. BTW, all the plates were chipped. We asked the waiter if he had given us kebab instead of tandoori chicken, and he said chicken comes in a standard size of 400 g; therefore, half tandoori chicken of this size was the usual stuff they serve. We asked him to cancel this item; he refused. We asked to replace the item or to please cancel the rest of the order. He refused. We asked for the manager. The manager came in after 10 minutes or so, assured us this is what he has been serving everyone who visits his restaurant, and it's okay if we don't want to have it. We paid for the finger chips and bottled water we had, and left. Throughout this experience, there were other patrons who were disturbed because of our altercation, but the restaurant staff behaved obnoxiously. Would recommend avoid this place. The finger...
Read moreWe generally go to this place because its one of the cheapest fine dining in hisar. But the food quality the serve is so random that we have now stopped taking our chances and started trying other restaurants. Sometimes the food is like finger licking good and sometimes its really disappointing. They serve a variety of cuisines, from Chinese to north Indian to Italian (pizzas are tie up with some other brand). The food is surely cheap. Ordered Afghani chaap for starter, one day it was just wow and the other day it was bland cold chaap served in a hurry on plate. Another problem is the place is very understaffed. There are hardly 1-2 waiters for 10 tables. Half the time people just keep calling so they can get the menu, place their order, get the check etc. Noodles and manchurian was good. In the north indian food items, the taste is okay. Chapatis are all good, missi roti is my favorite. But the gravy since my last to dining experience has been a disappointment. The gravy is too creamy that its creaminess kills the taste of the masalas that are supposed to come from a paneer gravy. Overall a decent budget place to visit...
