Lunch @theamigosexperience
Until a few months back there weren't many options to dine in around Kasauli; however, it's fast-changing. Helped by the dual carriageway & extremely good weather it's pretty much a satellite town for the people of Tricity, who anyways need the lamest excuse to drive up (me included š)
That said, it's time we replace the lame with good, and one of those good reasons is to dine at The Amigos Experience in Dochi Village. Opened a few weeks back, the first thing about Amigos is the modern clean look with a focus on merging nature with the Cafe. They've incorporated the trees into the decor and the huge windows blend the outdoors & indoors seamlessly. The patio is perfect just for coffee & breathing in the air & smell of the greenery around. I'd just go to Amigos for the view, the good food makes it all the more compulsive to drive up. While there are innumerable good dishes to choose from, I'd recommend the following:-
Himalayan Trout - A house special that's available mostly on weekends, this trout is brought in from Manali. Belonging to the Salmon family, and cooked skin on, the trout here is all about freshness and it's delicate texture. I've long advocated cooking fish with the skin on as that releases the oils into the meat making it flavourful & keeping it moist.
Chicken Kafta Hummus Board & Pesto Pizza - I'm partial towards Hummus & any Kafta/Kofta or Kebab that is served along, however, delicately flavoured these were good.
Mushroom & Kale Sandwich - It's a classic you can't go wrong with, add sourdough bread; a good amount of cheese, & you'll find comfort in every bite!
Tiramisu - The light texture makes this a winner, apt amounts of sweetness & coffee just add to its brilliance.
I think I've given you a few 'GOOD' reasons to drive up to Amigos, if that's not enough, I'd say dining around sunset at the Patio would be magnificent!!

Ā Ā Ā Read moreA place which has all the hype but not at all worthy of the hype. We ordered garlic bread and the base was raw, we asked the chef if it's like that the chef said yes its like that only.
Once we were done eating , ofcourse keeping the uncooked garlic bread aside, we again asked the manager about the garlic bread, and what was his take of it being raw, manager too accepted it being raw , though the manager not even responded by saying if the amount can be refunded.
Mocktails had all the sugar in it. Instead of ordering the mock tails once could have directly asked for a table spoon of sugar.
Note if you are planning to go to amigos, do go to dochi pizza hut , it's just opposite to amigos and all the worth, one would never be disappointed .
As a genuine consumer, I would suggest not to go to amigos and waste time and effort .I see a lot of positive reviews but I think most of them could be paid reviews, as the place is not what it is hyped for .
The management is also not well trained to run the business/cafe . Not sure the staff is trained for the need of the customer . I could see the Cafe being open since last one year and they did not have a...

My dog is tiny and very well behaved. I went to Amigos specially because I came across a video on instagram that showed a golden retriever dog and it said that they have special dog meals too(and special dog bowls). To my surprise the only dog meal option they had was boiled chicken in a disposable foil box, but my dog loves it so thats okay.
(Human)Food quality and presentation is great. Portion size can be better for the price asked. Cafe frappe is delicious.
We also ordered : Fish n Chips(loved the tarter sauce) Garlic Bread(it was good) Peri Peri Chicken steak with rice(if you like something spicy and wholesome , this is a good option) Chicken Lebanese Hummus platter(decent, not something I would recommend though) We also tried a Mocha coffee(very nice), cold pressed juice and a cucumber mint cooler.
The experience would have been so much nicer only if the cafe was more pet inclusive. I wouldn't say they are "Pet friendly" , they only "allow...
