Khandelwal Dhaba (Bandikui Waale) — Restaurant in Jaipur Municipal Corporation

Location: This places is situated On VKI area which is around 9-10 km approx from the centre point of Jaipur and on Sikar road. The place is quite good, and offer delicious food. Being a localite We Usually visit there, and for years their taste is same. The quality of food is good.

Food: Usually we order menu from a la carte but recently I tried their Shahi thali which costs around 200/- + GST. And believe me I am loving that. In fact after ordering that I was like for this thali they could have charged around 280/- to 300/- and it would have been worth in that amount also.In thali they provide Kaju paneer, Mix Vegetable, dal makhani, boondi raita, pulao, papad, and gulab jamun, and one lachhha paratha, and one butter naan. And the best thing is first they serve lachhha paratha and then wait for your order to serve the naan which is included in thali. This thali is enough or I should say more than enough. You can imagine that we did not even order naan from the thali because the size of lachhha paratha was huge in itself. Other than thali their add on service like lasan chatni, fried green chilli and Masala Onion(pyaaz) and saunf packet are quite good. It costs you somewhere around 250-350/- on maximum side, if you order a la carte (directly from the menu card) and in this rate you will love this place. The only thing disappointed me the price of their rotis as their Lachhha paratha costs you around 100/- and Butter Naan around 80/- that is too high but still this price will not affect your price per person. Dinning Area: They have two halls and if you want to have food in open air than they have road side sitting also. And I usually prefer to sit outside as it gives a feel of desi dhaba। If you planning for mini party for 15-20 people then they will provide you seperate space also. Staff: Staff was somewhere between good to ok. And service was good intially they take 15-20 minutes for your order.

Hygienic: Yes the place was and in case you want you can sit inside hall.

Caution: There are so many dhabas and with similar names or other names but this one is the best. jaipurites can argue between Sharma and Khandelwal dhaba but I like this dhaba, as Sharma is no more good, and the other Khandelwal which is adjoining to this I have tasted their food also and that was kind of ok. We tried Khandelwal Shahi Thali and Rajasthani Thali.

Ambiance - Felt more like a Restaurant than an Urban Dhaba to me. We sat indoors (noon time☀️) and it felt like a restaurant.

Staff + Service -

Mix of trained and untrained staff.👎🏼 We got Mix Service. 👎🏼 Brought the food quickly at first then lacked quickness on repeating order...and didn't notice our table often.

Food -

Khandelwal Shahi Thali - - Some of the dishes were tasty... others were okayish. The Lachha Parantha was served Hot👌🏼 and it was crispy. Overall I would like to try this Thali again. 👍🏻

Rajasthani Thali - I have had better Rajasthani Thali than this... It was just Okayish.👍🏻 I would not like to try this Thali again.👎🏼

Value for money - Yes.

We went in a group of 4 (all adults), and paid 1500/- approx only for lunch (no drinks, no desert), so I will call it averagely reasonable. The quantity of curries served was just enough for 2-3 people in each serving. All food freshly cooked and served quite fast so that was impressive.

We tried Junglee Roti, it’s nice crispy rotis with seasoning and minutely grated vegetables on top. Missi roti could have been better. Tandoori roti with butter was awesome, crispy hot and delicious. Dal fry could have been better. Sev tomato saag and Kadhai paneer was just perfect!
