My recent visit to Sher e Punjab left me disappointed, particularly with their dosa offering. As a fan of South Indian cuisine, I had high hopes for a flavorful and well-executed meal, but what I received fell short of expectations. I ordered the dosa, expecting the signature crisp texture that makes this dish so delightful. Instead, it arrived soft and limp, lacking the golden crunch I’d anticipated. To make matters worse, parts of it were noticeably burnt, leaving an unpleasant bitter aftertaste that overshadowed any potential enjoyment. It felt as though it had been hastily prepared without much care or attention to detail. The accompanying sambar was equally underwhelming. Rather than the warm, aromatic stew I’d hoped for, it was served cold and tasted far from fresh. The flavors were muted, and it seemed like it had been sitting out for too long before reaching my table. A good sambar should elevate the dosa experience with its tangy, spiced goodness, but this one failed to deliver even a hint of that promise. Service was average, with no real effort to check in on my satisfaction, which only added to the lackluster experience. Sher e Punjab may have other dishes worth trying, but based on this visit, their dosa is not one to recommend. For a restaurant with “Punjab” in its name, perhaps sticking to North Indian specialties might yield better results. Overall, a forgettable meal that didn’t justify the price...
Read moreWell from furnishing, okay from food quality But, I did not like from: Quantity that provided
Even compared to well-maintained hotesl/restaurents, quantity was low.
I ordered Chole-Bhature, but two Bhature were of size of Roti. Chole was in a small bowl.
I ordered Aloo Paratha, but they gave Muli Paratha (why? Due to 10Rs/Kg of Muli?) I replaced it (without eating). Also, the Paratha size was of Tandoori Roti.
In Menu, they wrote 110 Rs for Paratha with Curd, but shock for me was: they give Curd only in Breakfast time! Oh God! (Is this Hostel Mess?)
Instead of spending so much here, with less food, we can go to some Vaishno Dhaba's on Highway and eat full. Or we can buy fruits within 100 or 200...
