Sankalp Restaurant — Restaurant in Jamnagar

This is Sankalp’s second foray into Jamnagar as the first one in Neo Square at Hospital road closed down after some years.

The food is, as always, authentic and people generally rave ( rightfully so ) about the chutneys.

The space is medium sized so you can expect some waiting, especially on weekends and holidays.

The staff is experienced and polite.

Of the two tables allotted to us one was quite wobbly which is surprising as a lot of care seems to have gone into the decor.

Also, then main items are served in plates that are smaller than the dish for some reason.

Which means that the dish: Utthapan in my case, actually overlaps outside the dish. The plates are fancy but inadequate for a large sized dish.

For starters and stuff, smaller plates are fine but for Dhosas larger plates would be welcome.

I love dosa, but I’m usually disappointed with the sambhar at most places. But at Sankalp, I was really happy because the sambhar here is actually very tasty! Of course, the dosa was great too – just the way I like it. I also tried the Panchratna Uttapam, and it was delicious. It’s now added to my favorites list. Disappointed with my experience at Sankalp. The restaurant had too many mosquitoes buzzing around, making it uncomfortable to enjoy the meal. The service was incredibly poor, especially considering the higher prices charged. Customers expect a better dining experience when paying more.
