The Chinese Monk — Restaurant in Jharkhand

Visited the place on a friend's invite. Parking was not an issue probably as it was late in evening. The lift was not working which is not a great experience when the place is located on the 3rd floor, also the cleanliness and maintenance of the building seemed not up to the mark. Quite clumsy at places. Though as soon as you enter the restaurant the ambiance is good. I will put my experience under few broad aspects as follows:

Ambiance: though overall ambience was good but few improvements could make it even better as playing some good soothing music, adding some aromas and so on.

Service: good and quite prompt, Staff are polite and well behaved. Though the regular water they serve could be better. Quality of the cutlery could be better.

Food: the starters are quite good both in the veg and non veg segment. But the main course need much improvement both in Service and food quality. Often the buffet serving pans were almost empty and they had to be reminded by the customers to replenish them. This is not good as per hospitality is concerned. Also each batch of the main course they were serving varied in taste. The hakka noodles were somewhat burnt and the rice was under cooked. Though I liked the dessert quite a much. In my view it is a good place to dine in for the Chinese food lovers. The best part is both the vegetarian and non vegetarian can enjoy the cuisine equally. An added information for the eggitarians, they serve you egg soup if requested. Except for the small glitch in the main course it was a good experience with the food.

Cost: cost wise it is quite affordable with thr service they are providing but I would suggest the above mentioned improvements a must.

Overall it was a satisfactory experience.

Would recommend the place certainly to mh friends and followers.

What I am giving four stars is the few annoying aspects were not in direct control of the restaurant so that may not be held responsible. I am only deducting one star concerning the main course. Otherwise they deserve a 5...

Seeing their great rating on Zomato, I can say, they are a great Cloud Kitchen up for grabs. Your Chinese hunger pangs will be well sorted out if you get something from them. The packaging was great. I haven't seen a better packaging in Jamshedpur. The food came hot. Cutlery provided was adequate. Everything was biodegradable, which is really giving them Brownie points. The quality of the rice was Okayish. But taste wise, definitely a good option. The Manchurian could be better. I have had better. But the Roll was awesome. I got enough counts of paneer and the sauces put in it weren't overwhelming anything. The Paratha wasn't greasy as all....

I had a very disappointing experience at Chinese Monk today. I ordered Chicken Hot and Sour Soup and was told it would take 15 minutes, but I ended up waiting for more than 30 minutes and had to repeatedly ask about my order. The staff, both the lady and the guy attending, were not polite or professional towards customers. When I finally received the soup, it was handed over without any proper arrangement, and the taste was extremely poor.
