The Sailor’s Knot in Ranchi is a nautical-themed fine-dining restaurant that offers a unique experience. Located at Oceanik Auraa, near Dibdih Bridge in Argora, it stands out with its vibrant ambiance and diverse menu, making it a popular spot for families, friends, and food enthusiasts.
Ambiance
The restaurant nails its sailor theme with intricate decor, including ship-inspired artifacts and a lively atmosphere. It offers both indoor and outdoor seating, indoor for a cozy, relaxed vibe with subtle music, and outdoor for those who enjoy live band performances (typically on weekends). The spacious layout, with varied seating options like sofas, window seats, and bar counters, caters to different preferences. The outdoor area also features a trampoline and green space, making it kid-friendly. However, parking can be tricky due to its roadside location.
Food
The menu is expansive, covering North Indian, Chinese, Continental, Italian, and fast food, with standout dishes. The cocktails, such as the rum-based Breeze, and mocktails made with real fruit flavors are highlights. Portions are generous, and presentation is appealing, but the food quality could benefit from more attention to detail.
Service
The staff is generally polite and well-trained, with some reviews noting exceptional hospitality.
Price
Expect to spend around ₹800-₹1,000 for two, which is on the higher side for Ranchi. While the ambiance and live music justify part of the cost, some feel the food doesn’t always match the price tag. Alcoholic beverages are available, adding to the bill for those indulging.
Overall
The Sailor’s Knot is a refreshing addition to Ranchi’s dining scene, excelling in atmosphere and variety. It’s ideal for a fun evening with live music or a family outing, but food consistency and service need improvement to fully meet expectations. I’d recommend trying their cocktails and desserts while enjoying the...
Read moreThis place is super awesome. I went on a Sunday with family. They had a live band performance, not sure if the band performs daily though. There are two types of seating available. For ones enjoying the band performance, there is an outdoor seating (covered though). We preferred indoor seating as parents weren't comfortable with loud music. The indoor seating was equally awesome with subtle music in the background and beautifully arranged sofas and chairs alongwith bar counter at one side. As the place is named, they had a ship at the entrance, the theme continued in lightings and even napkins at the table. The waiters were all dressed in the ship's captian's uniforms. I would have appreciated even more if they could have followed their theme more. It was very little on their theme. They could have provided old wooden chairs which felt like old ships. They could have kept small boats with benches for seating. We ordered malai paneer tikka, crispy potato and penne pasta. All of them delicious except for paneer which didnt feel like much of tikka and malai was lesser. Loved the service. Moderate amout of parking space for 4 wheelers and 2 wheelers. Although you dont have to worry about parking for 4w as they provide valet parking. Overall had a good experience and my parents enjoyed it well enough. I would plan separately next time to enjoy...
Read moreOur recent visit to The Sailor's Knot. left us with mixed feelings. On the one hand, the food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was fantastic, making for a really enjoyable dining experience. We were also impressed with the overall hygiene – the tables were spotless, and the lighting created a pleasant ambiance. Clearly, a lot of care goes into maintaining the restaurant's appearance and the quality of its dishes. However, a significant letdown occurred when we inquired about food delivery via their robot. We specifically asked if our order could be brought to our table by the robot, but the waiter informed us they weren't using it due to the restaurant being "very busy." This explanation felt disingenuous, as we observed the robot actively delivering food to other tables throughout our meal. It was confusing and frankly a bit frustrating to be denied a service that was clearly being offered to other patrons. While the excellent food and great atmosphere certainly made up for some of this disappointment, the inconsistent application of their robot delivery service left a sour taste. We hope that in the future, the restaurant either consistently offers this feature or provides a more transparent explanation...
