Sizzling Darbar — Restaurant in Kalyan-Dombivli

I visited to celebrate my wedding anniversary. We were a group of 3. We asked to sit near the window but were told that it is only for large groups and they asked us to sit at a smaller table. I can understand if this was during a high footfall time, but at the time we were there, there was only one other group in the whole restaurant. We were a little dissapointed but then thought it added up to the staff not being trained to take such decisions.

We ordered mocktails and they were dissapointing. Every mocktail had a taste of peach. Not sure if they bulk buy peach flavored syrup.

We ordered some dishes that were recommended by previous patrons. The Barbeque wings had only 2 wings while the rest were just drummette drenched in barbeque sauce. The taste was okay. The service was very slow. Everything took long. We thought maybe it is a deliberate move on their part to ensure we digest what we ate before they bring out the next one.

We ordered a sizzler and by the time, that was brought to the time, it had lost the sizzle. I have had sizzlers at many other places and it usually is smoky and also leaves a smoky flavor to the food. It was missing here.

The dessert section is a letdown. Not many choices.

Even when we left two hours later, all the window sections were empty except for one where there was a family of 3, yes the same number as us. I am not sure why they didnt allow us then. Not sure if that was because we were dressed casually but the money was the same color.

SIZZLING DARBAR.. hearing the name I was so happy that finally we have a food joint in Kalyan which might serve good sizzlers. But to my dismay. The sizzlers were disappointing/not good. I have eaten in Yoko's and rate them very high. These were not upto the mark. We ordered manchow soup, 1 peri peri paneer sizzler, 1 veg exotic sizzler and the only difference was that one had paneer and the other didn't. Soup was great. The sizzlers were dry, without any sauce and even after asking the staff to provide us with some sauce they didn't. For my daughter we ordered Cheese Garlic bread which lacked garlic. And again, The staff didn't accompany garlic bread with either oregano or chilly flakes and didn't even give us after we asked them to. The ambience was great, location is great, they have a valet parking which is a plus. Pricing of sizzlers is ok but reat is on a higher side. Haven't tried their rest of the menu.
