LOCATION- Pandit’s : M. G. Park, Cant, Kanpur 🛣 . About Pandit’s- A young brand incepted in 1977 serving through its 100% pure vegetarian food and a fine dine restaurant “Chokho Marwar”. The only food joint preparing all its products in vedic style and atmosphere using shudh desi ghee, pure water, best sourced dry fruits, home ground spices and herbs without using onion and garlic. . I have attached the menu here for you all to check it (swipe right ) . Reviewing - Masala Dosa , Plain Dosa , Samosa , Dhokla & Moong dal kachori . . 🌈 DOSA - The plain dosa was authentic & scrumptious. It came along with coconut chutney , red chutney & sambhar . Each item on the plate was super tempting . The dosa was huge and crunchy . The chutneys were topped with curry leaves and mustard seeds and the Sambhar was a proper bang on South Indian tadka . The masala dosa was equally good . Recommendation- Yes ! This is a must if you don’t want to try their Thalis . . Price - ₹120/- Plain dosa - ₹150/- Masala Dosa . 🌈SAMOSA - It was perfect . The dry fruits in the potato stuffing went really well together . It was fresh and there was no oily touch to the fingers . It was perfectly fried . The only thing I did not like was the saunth meethi chutney it was so damn meethi like a chaasni . I really hope they improve on that . 😌 . Recommendation- A yes for the Samosa and no for the chutney . . Price - 20/- per piece . 🌈DHOKLA - It was moist and okay ! Not a wow delicacy . I have eaten much better dhokla’s in town . Again it came along with their meethi chutney which was a great turn down 👎🏻. . Recommendation- No 👎🏻 . Price - ₹10/- per piece . 🌈KACHORI - This was in perfect shape and crunchy , one can eat it alone also without any side dip . It came along with a paneer aloo matar sabzi which I really did not like . The flavours were too simple even the salt was less it was not at all spicy . There was no pickle to balance the simple sabzi . I feel they can add a green chutney and Raita to it . . Recommendation - 3 / 5 ( smjhdaar ko ishaara kaafi hai ) . Price - ₹25/- per piece . Service - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ the staff was too good ....
Read moreI visited this restaurant on Sunday for dinner, and it was a very disappointing experience.
Service: Extremely poor. No waiter even came to give us a menu card. After repeatedly calling, we finally got one. Even when we wanted to know about some dishes (especially Rajasthani ones, since the restaurant mainly serves that cuisine), there was no one to explain. Staff seemed too busy to attend to customers properly.
Food: The menu is mostly Rajasthani cuisine (not North Indian, Chinese, or South Indian as many might expect). It’s fine if it’s a Rajasthani restaurant, but this is not mentioned anywhere, so first-time visitors may feel confused. I
Billing Scam: The worst part was the billing. The veg platter was listed at ₹300 on the menu, but in the bill, it was charged at ₹375. When I questioned it, the staff first denied it, then said it was a “system glitch” showing another dishes price. Finally, they just told me it’s the “new price,” without any apology and refused to adjust the bill. Downstairs, when I complained, I got the same careless response: “Maybe the menu is not updated, but the computer is.” This is unacceptable — customers should be charged what is written in the menu, not more. They are just scammers and on confrontation both upstairs and downstairs just got reckless and stupid reasons
Quality of food: I had ordered a veg platter, but what they served was just rice, noodles, and two pieces of potato — basically like a Chinese platter, not a proper veg platter. When I asked, they casually said all platters are more or less the same since they focus on Rajasthani food, which made no sense at all
⚠️ This felt like a scam — overcharging without correcting the bill and with zero accountability.
👉 Overall, very poor service + misleading menu pricing. I would strongly advise others to avoid...
Read moreDuring our pilgrimage to the Maha Kumbh, we decided to make a grand stop in Kanpur, where our culinary journey took us to the legendary Pandits Restaurant. Recommended by rave reviews, we discovered that the reality far exceeded the promises. We ascended to the regal first floor dining hall, an oasis of opulence, while the ground level housed a bustling fast food center.
The atmosphere was nothing short of majestic, as though we had been transported to the grandeur of a Rajasthani fort. Vibrant colors, intricate décor, and an unmistakable air of royalty surrounded us. The head waiter, a connoisseur of fine dining, took exquisite care in guiding us through the menu, suggesting only the finest delicacies.
We indulged in a heavenly plate of Sarson ka Saag paired with perfectly crisp Makki ki Roti. The preparation was nothing short of perfection—the saag was a delicate blend of earthy greens and rich spices, while the roti was charred to perfection, crispy on the edges yet soft at the core. The textures and flavors danced in harmony, creating an unforgettable bite.
Even the dal and curries surpassed expectations, with each bite telling a tale of complex spices, slow-cooked goodness, and a mastery of flavors. While it took a moderate amount of time to receive our meal, the anticipation only heightened the experience, and every moment of wait was worth the sublime reward.
