This was my first and unfortunately my last experience at your restaurant, which turned out to be quite disappointing.

The food was good, but the behavior of the staff was extremely rude. I had ordered a lime soda that was served in a glass. After drinking half of it, I stepped outside to use the washroom. When I returned, I tried to sit in the outdoor area with my glass, but your staff refused, saying that I could not take the glass outside and must finish it indoors.

Even though your outdoor seating area was empty and well-managed, they insisted that I could only have the drink inside. Later, they offered to serve the remaining drink in a katori (bowl) or a disposable glass — which was quite unacceptable, especially for a drink I had already been served in glassware.

I would like to request you to kindly look into this matter. Such unprofessional behavior affects not only customer satisfaction but also your restaurant’s reputation and revenue.

I regret to say that I will not be recommending your place to anyone after this unpleasant experience. I hope you will take the necessary action to ensure that no other customer faces a similar issue in the future.

I have visited Pinaka in Kanpur around 2–3 times over the past few months. The food quality is quite good, and I especially enjoyed the Kashmiri Dum Aloo, Veg Platter, and once even tried their coffee – all were satisfying in taste. The ambiance and service are generally fine, though I do feel the place is a little overpriced, but still manageable for an occasional visit.

However, what disappointed me the most was my last visit. After finishing my dinner, I wanted to drink water from a bottle I had purchased just a few minutes earlier on my way to the restaurant. But a staff member stopped me, saying outside items are not allowed. I was honestly shocked – it was just a water bottle, not food from another place. I eventually had to step outside the restaurant to drink it, which felt quite awkward and left a bad impression.

Very disappointing experience. The service was extremely poor. The staff was not just inattentive but outright rude when asked basic questions. The food was average at best, nothing worth recommending.

What really shocked me was when I asked for drinking water and was told they don’t have a water filter in their kitchen. That immediately raised serious hygiene concerns. If there’s no filter, what water are they using to cook or wash vegetables? This is a basic necessity, not something optional.
