As soon as I visited Sankalp Restaurant today, the ambiance immediately turned me off. The lighting situation is severely lacking — the place remains excessively dark.
Despite the poor first impression, I somehow proceeded to place an order from the South Indian section — a Mysore Masala Dosa. However, what was served in the name of “Mysore” was merely an ordinary Masala Dosa, completely devoid of any authentic flavor. Reluctantly, I then ordered Chowmein, which also turned out to be utterly tasteless.
Suggestions & Feedback: The welcome area on the ground floor is in desperate need of proper lighting, especially near the entrance. Consider adding a selfie point or some interactive decor to engage guests and enhance their experience. While your service remains commendable, the taste of the food has significantly declined — it’s no longer what it used to be. This definitely needs attention. Although you pride yourselves on being among the best in South Indian cuisine, your so-called “signature” dishes lack any authentic South Indian flavor. Finally, please ensure that the quantity served is proportionate to the pricing — current portions don’t justify the cost.

Read moreFood tasted like its being served in udupi. The staff is gentle. Time taken for service is not more than 10 minutes. They change the dish if u don't like it without any fuss. The best service here is serving bottled RO water on the house. No need to buy expensive vedica or any other packaged water bottles. Little bit extra pricy than any other restaurant serving south Indian food, but they were able to serve most of the items available in their menu. I would suggest improving the texture of Kerala Parota it was very little flaky as compared to the one served at Kerala cafe near IIT kanpur gate. Idlis were super soft. Over all a once must go...

We had Jain masala dosa served with 4 varieties of chutneys and sambhar, alongside had veggie cheese roll and paneer tikka on the sides which were equally tasty. Fresh lime couldn’t be any more refreshing. The ambience was as homely, and the cutlery was exquisite. Toddlers too can munch. The food service was bang on. It arrived within a couple of minutes of ordering. The staff were very welcoming. Simply can't wait to hop again to this first ever Sankalp Multi Cuisine restaurant of Kanpur and enjoy the taste of...
