If you're reading it fully: We visited Big Buddha Cafe after hearing about it from a friend, and oh how thankful I am that we heeded his suggestion. We ordered a Paneer Manchurian and a Paneer 65 to start with. It's quite rare to find such soft and succulent paneer these days, and these folk have it spot on! Both the starters were really good and refreshingly different from what is run of the mill these days.

We then went for the main course: White Sauce Pasta, Ramen & Hakka Noodles. The Ramen is to die for! Such a tasty broth and such fresh veggies, I doubt there's any place in Mangalore which could come anywhere close to this in terms of flavour. Having thought that the Ramen was great, the pasta was a show stopper!! Oozing with taste, and ample veggies again - the creamy saucy pasta was excellent. Last came the Hakka Noodles - and this wasn't a dish to be outdone either - to be honest, we were finding it difficult to decide which was the tastiest of the dishes. Each one surpassed the previous. I can't wait to get back to Big Buddha Cafe to try the rest on the menu. By the way, they have a "du jour menu", meaning that each of their dishes are special on that day!

The ambience is something of a story in itself! The place is very tastefully done up with the main dining area right in front of the kitchen with hand made decor. Ask the hosts (Shilpa & Kaushik) and they'll regale you with the story of how each lampshade was made. There a stream which is built into the side of the property. A single table overlooks this stream: perfect for a romatic dinner.
