Good ambience but worst food. We ordered french fries, dragon chicken and broccoli soup. The soup was some sought of paste of broccoli and it tasted very bad. French fries were burnt on the outside and inside it tasted like raw potato and was very oily. We couldn't eat the thick ones at all we just left it there. The dragon chicken tasted normal but the taste was not of dragon chicken. It was like some other chicken dish.
We even found a dead insect inside the soup and the waiter denied telling that it was not an insect, We Just kept the remaining soup untouched.
Wouldn't suggest this place for good food. Not at all worth for the money ☹️ .
RESPONSE FOR THE REPLY FROM OWNER : Hi sir, I'm from Kerala, I don't know you or neither have I visited your cafe before. The above review was based on my first visit to your cafe.
We were very hungry and came to your cafe around 3:15pm. We decided to come to cafe Hay Shack based on the Google search and the reviews I saw for your cafe. We were very happy with the ambience we got at the moment we visited your place but when the food came and we tasted it, we were very disappointed. We also felt wierd after finding the insect in the soup. We literally paid 540RS for the food we didn't like a bit.
I don't have any personal grudge on you or your cafe. You are just an unknown for me. I just told about what I experienced at your cafe.
Please don't put a reply mentioning about family. Not a good business ethics.
Please try to improve on the food you serve from the feedback that you get meanwhile rather than replying nonsense.
Thank you 🙂 and...
Read moreUpdate on my review. My 2 star has changed to a 4 star. The food has improved in leaps and bounds. Ordered mainly continental for lunch.
Chicken sizzler - delicious! If i had to nitpick, the chef was generous with the rosemary, which while good for the taste, did on occasion prick my mouth
Peri peri burger - well flavoured, juicy chicken breast. Would have liked more fries but thats just me.
Veg lasagna - no complaints.
The wait staff are courteous and friendly, but need a little more training in terms of menu knowledge. All in all a very big improvement over my last time there
-old review- Very nice ambiance. At least in concept. But food is lacking. Only limited starters and mains only has rice items
Chicken starter: was ordered boneless and dry. But the dish came mostly with bones and gravy. Baby corn Manchurian: overly generous with soy sauce. Had a bad pungent after taste. Fried...
Read moreOn the highway and can easily be missed, to your right when traveling from Virajpet to Bangalore. The place has a unique setup and is quite good, visited in the afternoon so the options of the menu was limited as it's more of a evening place to hangout as per the owner. The staff were friendly and helpful, suggested whats bet to try. Food was fairly good in taste but the price looked slightly higher. Would recommend trying the local dishes as they were really well made. My friend tried Pork Pepper fry (a delicacy of Coorg) and was told that it was very good and he enjoyed the dish. The place also offers stay options and they also organize trek and camping facilities if given...
