I was there with my family yesterday between 3.30 pm and 4.00 pm. My Mom, brother, sister in law, little daughter and my sister in law's Mom. We were on way from Kannur, to our home in B'lore. Parking was full at A2B and heavy rush at Empire for lunch. We skipped both and came here hoping for something good for our hungry stomachs after a long travel.
First : The Gents' Restroom was very smelly. The odor was too much to bear. Second : We ordered 2 curd rice for the elderly ladies, 1 papad with veggie mix on it sharing among us, 2 veg biriyanis for my bro and his wife, 1 mango milk shake for me, 1 french frys for sharing with myself and niece.
1st came the Papad item. Quite ok. Next came the Mango milk shake. For 160 Rs, all I got was 3/4th qty in an normal plastic cup. not satisfied. My office canteen juice guy gives me a full glass for Rs.25, made right infront of our eyes. So for Rs.160, shouldn't I be expecting a bit more value, keeping aside economics of being far from city and need to balance finance to run the restaurant.
The curd rice eaters had to go without pickle. we waited and waited but it never came. Next were the veg biriyani eaters...They both were quite satisfied...My 10 year old niece did not enjoy the paratha..
I waited for the french frys...waited...waited..waited....Bro reminded the cashier twice...inbetween... Finally Bro enquired with the waiter and surprised to know they had missed it.. So they went preparing it and here we were...driving from 6.45 am, hungry and waiting...
I lost my cool and told the cashier that we have had enough of waiting...almost 45 min...told him to parcel it... There was no apology or any words to comfort me....
A group sitting behind us was also having problems. They had ordered 2 lassis along with other food.. After a long wait, one lassi came and when asked where is the other one, the waiter coolly went to another table to clean the leftovers, the group was left wondering what is this...
Another waiter brought two milkshakes, to our table which we had not ordered and he was left searching for the actual customer... All this though they have this number plates on the table for identification...
Inbetween we could hear lot of shouting from inside the kitchen...it exposed the lack of planning and experience in running the kitchen as well as the disturbance it created for those who had arrived to have good food and a memorable outing.
Would I recommend it... perhaps no. Reason being, when a family sits for having food and pricing it exhorbitantly, you miss the items, make customer to wait endlessly... it just isnt what is expected. When all others in the group have finished eating and then they have to wait for one more to even get his item on the table........
Read moreWe were driving back from Mysore to Bangalore, Sunday last, at night, and hoped to reach sooner for dinner. The traffic made the drive difficult and slower than expected and so we decided to break the journey for dinner. We saw this place suddenly and tried to maneover the vehicle causing a mini jam on the road. But the scare and the exercise were really worth it. The methi parathas were too delicious with a chai. My friends tried different dishes. We all left the place satisfied! PS: 1. We were intrigued by the name. May be they named it to troll 'De pizza'! You have to go to the counter inside the inn to order. You can pick up your table number and choose any table you want. The interior was neatly done but we chose to sit outside because the room seemed to be without proper ventilation and was filled with smoke! Or maybe it was meant to look like that to give a feel of warmth! But I am claustrophobic! So we were all happy to sit outside and see the drama that was taking place outside where other noisy customers were taking selfies and making merry! Toilets were tucked totally away from view and camouflaged with a neat arrangement of plants! Good decision! Maintenance was good with clean water! Men's toilet had no seat!! :( Had to use it though and was left wondering if I will...
Read moreThe name suggests that there is a modern twist to the traditional paratha in this café, so they certainly have a huge variety of them, from just addition of cheese to the all time favorites aloo n onion paratha to pizzas with base as a paratha.
They have a good selection in the menu and service is very fast!!!
We started off with aloo corn tikki, it was freshly prepared and tasted very good. For parathas we got aloo cheese and onion cheese, aloo cheese was ok but onion cheese was good. Mix veg paratha was very good and aloo was good too, we got the mushroom corn parathzzaa which was good too.
We had ordered a thali which had a jamoon, 3 types of gravies, jeera rice, masala chaas, and couple of pulkas, except the jeera rice which was a little dry everything was good.
For drinks we got mango lassi, mix berry cheesecake milkshake and masala chaas all were good. We got a veg palav with paneer chunks, it was good.
We had ordered everything at once and clearly told them not to give it all at once, but they did exactly what we asked them not to, that’s why the 4 rating, quick service is a good thing but not in such a way that you can’t finish it before the next dish is served and gets cold!!!
Ambience: 4/5 Food: 4/5 Price:...
