Filter Kitchen Cafe and Lounge: A Disappointing Experience

If you're thinking about visiting Filter Kitchen Cafe and Lounge near Rasta Cafe, I'd strongly recommend reconsidering based on my recent visit. What seemed promising turned into one of the most frustrating dining experiences I've had.

The Major Issues

Overpriced for What You Get The menu prices are absolutely ridiculous compared to the quality they deliver. You're paying premium rates for what feels like fast food quality, and honestly, there are much better options nearby that won't burn a hole in your wallet.

Zero Authenticity Don't believe the marketing about "authentic" cuisine. Everything tastes mass-produced and bland, like they're just reheating pre-made items. There's nothing special or genuine about the flavors here.

Frozen Chicken Disaster This was the worst part of my meal. The chicken arrived literally frozen solid, like they'd just pulled it straight from the freezer and slapped it on my plate. I've never encountered anything this bad at a restaurant that calls itself a "lounge."

Terrible Facilities for a "Lounge" For a place that markets itself as a lounge, having just two men's restrooms is pathetic. Both were dirty and clearly not maintained properly. The whole setup feels more like a roadside dhaba than the upscale venue they pretend to be.

No Consideration for Elderly Guests The number of steps you have to climb to get inside is insane. My elderly relative couldn't even make it to the entrance comfortably. Zero thought given to accessibility, which shows how little they care about their customers.

Mandatory Service Charge Scam Here's the kicker that really got my blood boiling. They slapped on a mandatory service charge without any prior notice. When I questioned it, the staff had the audacity to say "it's our rule." That's not how service charges work, and it felt like highway robbery.

The whole experience left a sour taste that had nothing to do with the food. Filter Kitchen Cafe and Lounge is all flash and no substance, prioritizing profits over basic customer service and quality. Save your money and go literally...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “FILTER – Where Egypt Meets Excellent Eats!”

If the pyramids had a pit stop, it would look exactly like this.

Just 45 km from Bangalore on the Mysore highway, nestled in Ramnagar, lies a restaurant so massive, so dramatic, and so photogenic, it deserves its own passport. FILTER isn’t just a place to eat—it’s a full-blown experience.

The moment you enter, you’re greeted by towering Egyptian carvings, dramatic fire flames, dancing water fountains, and enough photo ops to make your Instagram weep with joy. It’s like someone said, “Let’s build a food palace… and then add everything cool to it.”

With lush green lawns, beautiful lighting, and a massive indoor waterfall on the ground floor, this place is an architectural flex. Head upstairs for sweeping views of the lawn and a quieter vibe for your mocktail-fueled conversations.

And oh, the food. North Indian and Chinese dishes that hit all the right notes—flavorful, hearty, and served faster than your cravings can complain. Whether you’re in the mood for butter naan and paneer or crispy noodles with a zing, FILTER’s kitchen delivers. And the mocktails? Let’s just say they deserve their own fanbase. Refreshing, punchy, and perfect for a long drive cooldown.

Open till 5 AM, this place is a night owl’s dream. Midnight road trip? Early morning hunger pangs? FILTER is waiting, lights on, grills fired up.

✅ Massive seating (can easily host 700+ people) ✅ Beautiful ambience, perfect for events or spontaneous photoshoots ✅ Tasty food + quick service + great mocktails ✅ Open till 5 AM (Yes. Really.)

So the next time you’re cruising down Mysore Road with a hungry heart and a curious soul, make a stop at FILTER. Come for the food, stay for the vibes, and leave with a phone full of memories (and probably a few...

I recently had the opportunity to visit Filter Hookah Cafe, and I'd like to share my thoughts and experiences with you.

Let's start with the food; it was undoubtedly enjoyable, earning a solid 4-star rating. While it was good, it didn't quite reach the pinnacle of culinary excellence. Moving on to a slightly unusual policy, I found that bringing your own water bottle is not allowed, which might be a minor inconvenience for some.

On the bright side, I visited on a Monday night, and the service was impressively quick. It seems like choosing the right time can enhance your experience here.

As for the atmosphere, Filter Hookah Cafe exuded a distinct Goan vibe, which added a unique touch to the overall ambiance. It's always refreshing to find a place that transports you to another place and time.

However, one aspect that might deter some customers is the pricing of their hookahs. They were noticeably higher than what you'd typically find at similar establishments. Unfortunately, there were no special offers to offset this cost, with only combos available, which were also on the expensive side.

In summary, I would rate Filter Hookah Cafe a solid 4 out of 5 stars. It's a place where you can enjoy good food, experience a little bit of Goa, and get quick service, especially if you choose to visit on a less crowded night. However, be prepared for higher-than-average hookah prices and limited cost-saving options.

Also 10% service charge. The washrooms were kind of Far, had to walk even for...

Filter Cafe offers a promising environment with its spacious and airy open area, providing a pleasant ambiance for patrons. The café's expansive seating arrangement is a notable highlight, making it an ideal spot for gatherings or enjoying a leisurely afternoon. However, the overall experience falls short in terms of both food quality and service. The menu at Filter Cafe, while extensive, leaves much to be desired. The dishes lack the flavor and creativity expected from a cafe. Whether it's the lackluster presentation or the subpar taste, the culinary experience here disappoints. The limited vegetarian options may also leave non-meat eaters wanting more variety. Service is another area in need of improvement. The staff appears disinterested and unresponsive, often leading to long waiting times for orders and inquiries. This lack of attentiveness can diminish the overall dining experience and leave customers feeling neglected This cafe while boasting a spacious open area and a pleasant ambiance, faces stiff competition from Rasta Cafe, located just 11 km away. It's no surprise that Rasta Cafe outshines Filter Cafe in popularity.

Was on a long travel from Bangalore to South Canara on a vacation with family, on my way back via Coorg had to take the Bangalore Mysore express way to travel back to Bangalore. On our way back, after umpteen times and trying all the way side restaurant we wanted to explore something New. So ended up seeing the name FILTER, trust me I just expected this to be a typical highway side restaurant serving some snacks and coffee, Guess what I was in for a big surprise never anticipated one would end up in such a wonderful place, Amazing set up as you enter , get to welcome by couple of smiling staff, the inner Ambience is top class , well thought out with equally capable of open and roofed restaurant. The kitchen was capable of serving a variety of beverages, mocktails, milkshakes, fresh pizza 🍕, Burgers 🍔, choice of starters, in short just loved the surprise. Special attraction Open space by the large water fountain is a place to be to chill out with friends and family. Overall was a nice experience and in my opinion my next visit will be to try out more @FILTER.
