I visited Hampi on December 26th, 2020 and stayed at Tutti for 2 days. I was shocked to see that all the old shacks on Hampi island were all destroyed. I’ve stayed at Tutti thrice already. I just love Tutti for the location at the foot of a small cliff & fields around it. The place is always maintained well and kept clean compared to most other places I’ve stayed at, as you’ll have to remember Hampi is located in the midst of a typical South Indian village with a bustling number of tourists. So don’t expect fancy hotels in this part of town everything is basic and the beauty is its blended into that village lifestyle. It’s a great experience don’t go to Hampi with expectations you have at a 3 star or 5 star like other holiday destination. Go with a mindset that you’ll be living in the midst of paddy fields, limited network, living a life life from the past to some extent but above all in the midst of nature, beautiful landscapes, a vast history and great culture of a by gone era.... I can go on but I’ll stop.... Coming to Tutti it’s always been a nice experience for me to meet Rami (Ramesh) who manages the place along with the owner(Marzia), I’ve known Rami from his previous resort at Hampi island.... Every time I’ve gone he’s always been there to help & welcome us. I generally call and book my stay and they have been reasonable for what they offer based on availability, compared to other Homestays in the surrounding and it’s a clean and a fairly well maintained place. Their 2 hotel new staff were also helpful and accommodating. Overall the ambience and vibe of this place always gets me back to this place. Considering that the island shacks and homestays are all destroyed this location is close to the road connecting to the river crossing and hence you can travel easily between the other side of the river and here. It’s not really walkable but if you hire a bike or bicycle your sorted. Compared to some shacks which are very far in the wilderness like at Gangawati or Sanapur,(unless you don’t plan to travel frequently across the river to Virupaksha temple side, then it’s ok to stay anywhere) It’s advantageous as you can also go towards the lake and waterfall from here and the monkey temple for either a sunrise or the sunset... and for visiting all the UNESCO sites on the other side. If it’s only the UNESCO sites that are of interest to you, then it’s better you stay at locations before the river around the Virupaksha temple surrounding or the Hampi Bazaar area(there’s no bazaar as such as the name sounds, but a bazaar of the by gone era), as then you don’t have to spend time walking or crossing the river. But if your also keen on spending some time lazing around fields and stony hills(there’s infinite small hills all around and great for trekking off the beaten path) its a good break go for it. Tutti will offer you tents and small tents for single person with common bathrooms most places in Hampi does common bathrooms or you have a thatched roof private room and bath... I’ve stayed in all and they are kept clean and the entire property maintained well by the owner whom I should give credit as I’ve seen her wake up early and personally get the work done. The food is good they have different varieties and it’s so far always been good. They try to cater to north, South Indian and also Oriental and continental cuisine but like I said it’s all blended in their own style over time so don’t expect the same but things may be a little different here. In most places in Hampi food is cooked on order and being a typical village setup service will take time so you’ll have to learn to be patient in most places in Hampi. Overall it’s a nice experience to stay at Tutti for me and has always been mainly due to its...
Read moreI had the pleasure of staying at the Hampi Heritage Resort and Tutti Café for four nights, from January 23rd to January 27th, 2025. My stay was absolutely enjoyable and peaceful, and I am delighted to share my experience. The resort's location is idyllic, situated in the quiet surroundings in the north of Hampi. It is a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The Hampi monuments, a significant attraction, are about a 40-minute drive away. The resort is also very close to the breathtakingly beautiful Tungabhadra River reservoir, a spot that adds to the charm of the location. The area around the resort is predominantly covered in rice fields, creating a green carpet that stretches as far as the eye can see, with the iconic Hampi boulders providing a stunning backdrop that resembles a heavenly landscape. The accommodation at Hampi Heritage Resort is in the form of cottages, which are spacious, super clean, and comfortable. The beds are huge and incredibly comfy, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The cottages are nestled amidst a mangrove and shaded by numerous mango trees, which naturally cool the surroundings. This blend of nature and comfort makes for a relaxing and rejuvenating stay. The cottages doesn’t have TVs but believe me you won’t miss it . The wifi connectivity is very good and will suffice your needs. One precaution one needs to take care of is carrying mosquito repellants . The area has quite a dense cover of trees. Large quantity of mosquitos around in the premise but the staff supplies you with mosquito repellants on request. The property itself is expansive, with ample parking and open spaces. This vast area allows guests to enjoy leisurely strolls and appreciate the serene environment. The restaurant and bar area, Tutti Café, is conveniently located about 60-70 yards from the cottages. Here, one can savor delicious meals and drinks while enjoying the tranquil ambiance. The ambience of the restaurant was not of the usual table and chair arrangements. Majority of the area has sitting arrangement with pillows.(like Bhartiya Baithak). Loved the arrangement. Sipping your drinks on the mattress enclosed in the massive shades of the trees … Ohh One of the most peaceful times I experienced in recent years. In terms of food you will get Goa vibes as quite a chunk of Europeans and Russians are regular visitors here in Hampi. The menu is expansive ranging from English breakfast to Chicken Tandoori. This is not the place if you want to try out Authentic South Indian sambars,Rassam etc then you need to visit famous dining options like Mango tree and Varsha which are nearby. But on a whole we never had a complaint about food . All the dishes were delicious and tasty. On our last day they also customized a dish as per our need . More marks to the hospitality . One of the highlights of my stay was the remarkable staff. They were super friendly and went out of their way to make me feel welcome and comfortable. Their hospitality truly enhanced the overall experience and left a lasting impression. Special mention to Akash and Pyaare . We used to have long chats with them and I get to know them quite well. On my last day I was lucky to have some conversation with the Owner as well who was again.. super friendly. In conclusion, my stay at the Hampi Heritage Resort and Tutti Café was a delightful experience. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommended if your next destination is Hampi. The beautiful location, comfortable accommodations, and exceptional service make it a perfect choice for anyone looking to explore Hampi while enjoying a peaceful and relaxing retreat. YES… I WILL DEFINITELY...
Read moreTutti Hampi was home for four days this past weekend, and it the perfect getaway. ||||Short story: breathtaking location, easy access to amazing locations north of the river, delicious café, helpful staff, comfortable & clean cottages, & sweet puppies! ||||For those interested, here's a detailed review - ||||1. The location - hands down the best location for a guest house north of tungabhadra. We visited other guest houses/stays near the river, but Tutti's distance from the river ensures it's nestled in the midst of hills & banana fields. It's quiet, bright, open and very much a getaway from the crowds. Also close to amazing view points, hiking trails and Sanapur lake, which is a marvel all on its own. ||||2. The café - we usually tend to eat on the go when travelling but the FANTASTIC chef and team at Hampi completely spoilt us. Our breakfasts and dinners were definitely food highlights. They menu might seem pricey, but this is the case of every other menu we saw in that part of Hampi. The superlative food makes it completely worth it. Also, the setting of the café makes you feel like you can vegetate there forever! ||||3. The staff - so pleasant, cheerful & resourceful. We needed auto rides to the river and station, bikes, trail recommendations and we were not disappointed. Special mention to the ever smiling, friendly steward Vikas, whose cheery face brightened our café vists immensely! ||||4. The cottages - they're new, comfortable and very clean. Ensuite, but no hot water. Highly recommended for glampers. Each cottage comes with a balcony and pro tip: ask for cottage no. 1 or 2, they have the best view of the hills! ||||5. The puppies! - actually, one highly excitable puppy and 2 slightly more dignified dogs. don't be put off by reviews which complain about them. They're meant to be guard dogs, so yes they bark, but they're also lovely and don't invade your space at all. ||||All in all, a fantastic time was had at Tutti, and we WILL go back, and recommend it to everyone we know. Another pro tip: go during the week if you can. Weekends have touristy folk who make the space their own with loud Bluetooth speakers blaring personal music and thereby completely ruining your experience. The staff understandably can't shut this down, but it's irritating when you really just want some peace and quiet and enjoy being in the midst of so much natural beauty! Honestly this was the only downside to our stay but everything else mostly made up for it! ||||So go on and book that...
