My cousin recently ordered from this place & suggested I should give this place a try. I whatsapp'ed their number and they replied very promptly. Hassle free ordering was done via whatsapp. They asked for a preferred time of delivery and also were open for a conversation on what dishes were available for the day.
I placed the order around 11.30am and asked for the delivery at around 1pm. The food was on time and was delivered hot with good spill proof packaging at our doorstep.
We had ordered for chicken biryani, chicken sukka & mushroom pepper dry.
Biryani was very flavourful. Meat to masala ratio was quite apt. There were two pcs in one plate of biryani. The leg piece was cooked to perfection but the breast was a tad bit chewy. The biryani came with a nice spicy gravy/sherva and a portion of diluted raita, both of which were good accompaniments to the biryani.
The chicken sukka induced so much nostalgia and took me back to those days of having this stuff at a Shetty household. The sukka had super tender and juicy chicken pcs. Some were almost fall off the bone kind. The masala had the right balance of spicyness and tanginess to it. Clearly it was meant to be savoured with a hot plate of neer dosa/appam or if you ask the punekar in me , she would love to have it alongside a steaming plate of indrayani bhaat!
Mushroom pepper dry - this is an Indian style preparation and not a Chinese one. It's mandatory to tell the staff about what style of preparation you prefer. I kid you not, this was by far the best mushroom pepper dry my mom & I have tasted. My mum hates greasy mushroom gravy and prefers a dish which is easier to snack on. This was a great accompaniment for her homemade dal & rice. The mushrooms were coated in a batter & deep fried to a crisp. It was tossed along with caramelized onion, crackling curry leaves and lots of pepper & chopped garlic!
In a nut shell, this place is must visit . The owners are very modest and kind. They take good care of their customer's requests and take extra effort to meet their expectations. This kind of service is something many restaurants lack these days and Hotel Manmatha is doing their best to stay at the top...
