Best Veg Foodā on KaupāKatpady Highway? Donāt Make Me Laugh. Heard people raving about this place being the best veg restaurant between Kaup and Katpady. So I went for brunch on 28-07-2025. Regretted it almost instantly.
Ordered a masala dosa and uttapam ā and trust me, my mom makes a better dosa in 5 minutes at home. It was paper-thin, soggy, and had zero roast. On top of that, we ordered two musambi juices ā ā¹100 each! For that price, I expected at least fresh juice, not some watered-down version of disappointment.
Total bill? ā¹360 for just four basic items. Not even close to worth it.
And the waiter? He could hear us, but we couldnāt hear a word he was saying. Mumbled through everything like we were supposed to guess the menu. Also didnāt know Kannada ā felt like we were in a game of charades, not a restaurant.
Only thing going for this place was the ambiance. But newsflash ā ambiance doesnāt fill your stomach.
Final verdict: All hype, no taste. One-time visit, and even that felt like a mistake.
Rather go to Shiv Sagar Udyavara, very good service and waiters...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLocated on the main highway between Mangalore to Udupi, this restaurant is a food heaven for people who love a good veg lunch. A family lunch to try out this simple looking yet so clean restaurant. We stuck to the traditional thali which had the perfect quantity of veg curry items. You are served freshly cooked roti's along with it and trust me, you will love it. We ended up asking for a second round of Roti which was freshly made after our order and served to us. The wait was worth it. You have a choice in rice so feel free to ask. We closed our meal with a nice glass of butter milk which was served in a nice tall glass. We were super impressed and the owner himself spoke to us for our feedback.
I agree initially a lot of restaurants have these perfect and clean images but this place will clearly maintain the same standards for a long time.
My next visit would be for some good early morning...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStopped here for a breakfast. The restaurant is easily accessible from the highway and has good parking area. Seating is available inside and outside with good ambience. We had Poori and Mysuru masala dosa along with a cup of coffee. The poori is made from wheat flour and along with the aloo bhaji tasted good. The Mysuru masala dosa was quite big in size with the red chutney smeared fully on the inside. The aloo bhaji was semi solid and was quite good. The coffee was excellent. Since we stopped here as a stop gap arrangement, we could not savour other dishes. I would like to get back for a lunch or dinner to enjoy...
