PURE VEG Restaurant - UNIQUE TYPE - very Large Campus - Excellent taste - priced Slightly high! Look of the Restaurant / Hotel from outside = Excellent Parking facility = Very Good (Within the Compound & Outside) Stewards / Quality of Reception = OK Quality of Interiors = Orthodox (Non-conventional), Rural Look, Good lighting Staff’s Initiative in providing Seating (For all Members) = Good Family / Business Type = Purely Family Waiting for taking the Orders = Average Items in the Menu = Very novel & Impressive Prima fascia Cost of typical Dishes = affordable for the QUALITY Vs QUANTITY (compared to other local Hotels) Cuisines offered = Indian (OTHERS NOT SURE) Quantity = Above expectation Quality of Food = Excellent Value for money compared to Quality & Quantity = 85 % Hot-water available for drinking = Yes, available on request. Waiting time, after Ordering = Need to wait a bit Warmness in Serving = Not very good Post-Serving attention = Not very Attentive Finger-bowl available = NO General Hygiene = 8/10 Neatness of Toilet = 8/10 Billing time = OK Payment by Cards = YES, all Cards Tips in cash = Yes Overall Time taken in the Restaurant = Breakfast took above 45 minutes OVERALL VERY GOOD ===

We had Breakfast (Family visit) - Masala Dosa (Special), Special Leaf Idli, Poori, etc... All broke earlier records for many restaurants - They are surely t the top most layer - Congrats!

Specialty = Many items, specially IDLI covered in leaf

NOTE: NO Alcohol / Beer Served; NO Halal Food.

Kamat Upachar group and their Yatrinivas highway hotel brand is one of the oldest chains in Karnataka . Many a Cafes/hotels might have come and gone but Kamat is the OG. Coming to Lokaruchi this particular outlet has been around since 1995 and can safely its their crown jewel

Now I have personally visited many Kamat outlets but today was my second visit in the space of a year. First thing that stands out is Kamat staff know how to make a family feel comfortable/welcome and at home. They ooze traditional kannadiga hospitality. Its not a formal made up one. You can sense the genuineness.

Next the food. Ive seen many reviews here bashing their hygiene and taste. I personally find both upto the mark. Taste is subjective but if you like over the top spiciness, Kamat isnt for you. Its not a joke to run a restaurant for decades with consistent quality and hospitality when you see many others open and close in the space of months. Infact most of the service staff and cooks have been with them for decades too. That says a lot about the management.

In both my visits I had their special Uttara Karnataka meals. Every item was served hot and fresh and what stood out was their curd . It feels like its made in house from milk. And one thing I d like to mention for those who havent tried , Kamat tea has a special place in my palate.

Kamat = old world hospitality + fresh no preservative homely cooked food

And most visits I do buy some of their sweets/savories .Again no preservatives and "authentic" taste. (Authentic is a highly misused word by both restaurants and food vloggers these days. This is...

5th time I had been to this place, Only reason because of the food I like Jolada rotti meals, with the lot of disappointment I am sharing my feed back below. My recent visit to this place with family, Very horrible, The way they treated this time is not acceptable, For 3 and half years kid we should not share / feed our served food it seems, Literally not sure weather he is a owner or floor manager or floor watch keeper, he was standing next to us and watching weather we are feeding kid or not, For a movement we felt like why this guy staring our food plate like this, After few seconds he moved towards serving people and informing them to keep eye on us and asking them to not to share food with the kid, I ordered normal Meals and special me Along with for a kid we ordered separate plate of chapati (chargeable) as per serving, My wife she was not a foodie person, So she thought of for kid if he likes something from our plate she can feed him, but they literally behind us for every bite, whatever left over food in the plate we should not share or feed for kid it seems, Its kind of embrace movement for us this time, Finally we paid the bill and told the owner our experience, We do understand what is sharing and caring, Caring is something for kids we do with extra happiness, but I did not expect this time specially from Kamath hotel point of view, Road side food serving people far better then you guys, If this continues like this you people will see soon down fall in your business or loose family...

I had the pleasure of visiting this traditional South Indian restaurant for the very first time—and it left a lasting impression. Known as one of the oldest eateries in the area, it lives up to its reputation for preserving the rich culinary heritage of South India. The ambiance is serene, surrounded by natural greenery, offering a calm and refreshing atmosphere that feels like a peaceful retreat. It’s the kind of place where you can slow down and truly enjoy your meal. The service was exceptional. The staff were incredibly polite, warm, and attentive, making the entire experience feel genuinely welcoming. Their hospitality alone is reason enough to return. The food selection is impressive. I ordered Veg Biryani, Ghee Rice, and Fried Rice—all flavorful and satisfying. The Onion Uthappa was crisp on the edges, soft inside, and packed with taste. They also offer a wide variety of dosas, each one tempting in its own way, perfect for anyone who loves traditional South Indian breakfasts or snacks. One of the standout items was the North Karnataka unlimited meal—a feast that truly showcases the region’s culinary depth. It’s hearty, authentic, and leaves you full and happy without being too heavy. Overall, this place isn’t just about food—it’s about the experience. If you're looking to enjoy a blend of tradition, taste, and tranquility, this restaurant is a must-visit.

Visited them after almost 8 years. Last time I was there I had their ಜೋಳದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ Jawar Roti which tasted great. This time again I had their ಜೋಳದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ and it tasted almost just same. However, I reached there around 11.30am and I was told that the roti makers (people specialized in making rotis/ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಬಡಿಯುವುದು who hail from Northern parts of Karnataka where ಜೋಳದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ Jawar Roti is a local regular food) would be coming in only at 12pm. So I had to wait almost 50 minutes until I was served with the hot-hot ಜೋಳದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ. 😇 The Dal curry and the brinjal curry that they gave along with the rotis were not really great (I have had really great tasting curries elsewhere many places better than what was given here, so saying this) However, ಜೋಳದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ was very very tasty and so it was worth all the wait. 😇 Apart from kitchen food, they have a counter that sells packed food and snacks. They also have great indoor and outdoor seating facilities. Good restrooms. Enough parking space. They also host a wooden articles/toys shop within the premises for which Channapattana is famous for, handmade wooden toys and articles. Right beside this outlet is the Janapada Loka, a folklore park and museum. One can spend some time walking around in there to learn about Karnataka's folk art forms and may also indulge in some pot making and more. 😇
