Visited them after almost 8 years. Last time I was there I had their ಜೋಳದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ Jawar Roti which tasted great. This time again I had their ಜೋಳದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ and it tasted almost just same.
However, I reached there around 11.30am and I was told that the roti makers (people specialized in making rotis/ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಬಡಿಯುವುದು who hail from Northern parts of Karnataka where ಜೋಳದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ Jawar Roti is a local regular food) would be coming in only at 12pm. So I had to wait almost 50 minutes until I was served with the hot-hot ಜೋಳದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ. 😇 The Dal curry and the brinjal curry that they gave along with the rotis were not really great (I have had really great tasting curries elsewhere many places better than what was given here, so saying this) However, ಜೋಳದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ was very very tasty and so it was worth all the wait. 😇
Apart from kitchen food, they have a counter that sells packed food and snacks. They also have great indoor and outdoor seating facilities. Good restrooms. Enough parking space. They also host a wooden articles/toys shop within the premises for which Channapattana is famous for, handmade wooden toys and articles.
Right beside this outlet is the Janapada Loka, a folklore park and museum. One can spend some time walking around in there to learn about Karnataka's folk art forms and may also indulge in some pot making and more. 😇

Amazing eating joint between Mysuru (Mysore) and Bengaluru (Bangalore). Bang on highway. Ample parking and toilets available.
Amazing meals served in Banana leaves. Eat with hands and savour the flavours. Eat till you drop with unlimited helpings of chapati, rice, sambar, rasam and curd with papad, pickle, chutneys and sweet.
If you don't have a big appetite, try Moode idli. It has a cylindrical shape (If you are an engineer, it can be explained as a truncated conical shape)
Lip smacking stuff. Whenever I have to go to Mysore and take Bangalore flight, I stop both ways and have food here. Mostly female attendants (women empowerment)
Outside the restaurant, there are many shops selling local souvenirs like wooden toys, sandal packs etc. If you are lucky, you may find the artist who makes miniature Ganesha idols of clay and sells on a cart. Sizes vary from 1 inch to 5-6 inches. Great pieces to bring back as memories. Don't forget to ask for "Idli Ganesh" which is not available anywhere else on the planet.

Review--July 2024
Found flies in Coffee!!
When forced the cashier to check.. shocked to see the entire vessel in which the milk was boiled... were quite a few in them too!!
Will not recommend this place ever to anyone!!
Kindly do not leave the toll road for this unhygienic food!!
If at all u have no option at least make it a point to check the boiler vessel just outside the entrance and hope u don't find any flies!! Must Check at least when so many disease are caused by Mosquitoes!!
Lost the quality Kamat had???Also have lost my trust over it!!
Not sure if I will gather the courage to try or visit this place again!!
The below review date--March2024
Food is good,
Must try--Neer dosa(Don't miss the honey that is served with it-U can thank me later), Masala Dosa (roast),Puri, Masala Akki Roti.
The service is not that good...looks like the staff is in a hurry to get the bill and clear the table even when it's completely empty...

While going towards Mysore, on the Bangalore Mysore Highway, on your right, next to the Janapada loka museum of folk, this restaurant is very good, spacious, clean and with parking facility.
I recommend their breakfast combo much. Their lunch thali menus are also good. Food is tasty, variety is good, traditional dishes have authentic taste and it's freshly prepared.
On weekends and holidays there is a lot of rush, so keep 15 to 20 mins waiting time in hand despite this place being very spacious.
If you are a group of 4 to 10 members as well, you can stopover at this place. It's also good to go with kids, as they can enjoy the food here. There is a small play area where toddlers can play for about 5 to 15 mins. There are two or three small shops including a toy shop.
Washrooms are there.
The place embraces nature. Good to have a pitstop.
You would spend a minimum of 45 mins here to about a max of 90-100 mins here.
Delicious and tasty vegetarian food available for lunch, breakfast and Dinner. This is one of the famous place for having the tasty and yummy vegetarian meals specially the Karnataka style food. Here you get the South Karnataka meal which will serve unlimited poori and unlimited meals at just 155/- and you have the famous North Karnataka meals which will serve famous Jolada Roti again this is unlimited and very fresh almost like directly served from stove and it will be always very hot hot.
During weekend you can easily see that how much has crowded this place is and definitely you need to wait here on weekends for minimum 30 minutes for sure and the all the vehicles coming from Mysore Road will definitely stop for dinner.
All the meals here are served on Banana leaf along with fresh butter milk and ghee. Really this is worthy place to stop here for having healthy and delicious meals for lunch or Dinner.
