Kamat Hotel Chains are very popular among south India. It used to and continue to be life line for vegans. They have very good reputation.

This Kamat Hotel in traffic Island is one of the oldest hotel in hubli-dharwad.

Under the leadership of Mr.Rangappa Pandurang Kamat who is Founder & Pioneer of Udupi Eateris/ restaurant in India, this Hotel was started in the year 1974 in traffic Island Hubli.

This hotel is situated in the heart of the city. There was famous movie song shoot in chennamma circle "huttidare kannada nadilli huttabeku" , in that song this Kamat Hotel is seen clearly.

This hotel was popular back then but in recent days, quality & service is deteriorating. Service is very very poor. They take their own sweet time. Drinking Water glass was not washed properly.

Ordered for Idli fry and veg noodles for my return journey. When I opened the idli fry packet, I was shocked as it was deep fry. Normally idli fry means they cut idli into small pieces and fry with onion, tomato, coriander leaf. Never order any item without proper enquiry as idli fry in Telangana and Tamil Nadu is different. In Veg Noodles, there is no Vegetables. Quality of food is below average. Rate is reasonable. I learnt a lesson that place order for Idly or dosa in Karnataka as they have different version...

We have order for 10 people from Railrestro app direct on our train seat.

We did not like quality of food. The quantity was too small. The Veg Biryani (190 rs) and Veg Pulao (90 Rs ) was same in taste , same in quality but price difference was unexpected.

We will complaint it on Railrestro as well and will post it on twitter to Indian Railway via Email too.

We suggest to Kamat Restaurant dont fool people with such things.
