Lake View Restaurant — Restaurant in Karnataka

This is a decent restaurant on the Thalassery Mysore highway and is located a few kilometres after the Kerala-Karnataka Checkpost at Makutta on the Karnataka side. I visited this restaurant for having lunch on 1st week of Jan2022 while returning from Kannur. This is one of decent restaurant among the few available in that region. It is located in midst of a scenic hilly region and infront of a small lake. There is hardly any telephone network at this place.

They had no hardcopy of a menu , but one of the staff mentioned whatever was present at that time. The options were very minimal. Biriyani, 2-3 veg & nonveg curries, maida porotta, and 2-3 kinds of rice along with a couple of fresh fruit juices. We ordered for ghee rice, chicken curry , veg curry and orange juice. The taste of the food was average .

They had a hand wash place and a separate washroom area located towards the outside of the hotel. The washrooms were clean. There is no dedicated parking at this place but you have ample place to park beside the main road , opposite to the restaurant. The first floor of the restaurant has a glass wall and view from the floor is amazing, But it becomes very hot during noon. This is a non-ac restaurant.

The hotel compound had other shops like a tea shop, and and general store.

Old management didn't maintain this hotel well hence I wasn't stopping here. Old reviews would be bad and shouldn't be considered because of this.

This is new management, and a new version of Lake View Restaurant is a fantastic spot, especially if you’re looking for a calm, family-friendly place with great food. The Shahi Dum Mandi is the star of the menu – truly one of a kind! The flavors are rich, authentic, and something you won’t find anywhere else. We absolutely loved it.

The restaurant has excellent seating arrangements including comfortable majlis style seating, and a lovely external balcony that’s perfect for enjoying the view and taking great photo moments with your family. The ambience is cool and relaxing.

A special mention to Manager Ashraf – a very friendly and helpful person who ensures guests are well taken care of. Another great plus is that they’ve arranged a small prayer space where 2-3 people can perform namaz peacefully, which I really appreciated.

Their were plenty of seats when we visited. we visited on around 11 pm and the place is so neat and clean. The staffs are also so nice and good behaviour. You can use their restroom if you are traveling by. When we visited one of the restroom was not cleaned.

We had porotta, butter chicken and chicken chilly. Butter chicken was below average and it was so sweety.But chilly chicken was quite good.. average spicy and good quantity also porotta feels so freshed.

After that we had a passion fruit mojito it was amazing.Feels like no essential was added and felt so fresh. The price is also feels so cheap for passion fruit mojito.

Its an nice place for families and also travellers who is passing by.
