Avoid this restaurant like the Plague!!! These guys do not honour reservations despite me booking a table in advance( the previous day)... Which clearly shows they neither value your business nor your time. And then they stupidly giggle when you question them about it, making you wonder about their seriousness, sanity and intelligence!!!!
I had visited their restaurant in person the previous day and booked a table reservation for 15 people for 9 PM the next day, which was noted in their register. This was for a special occasion. Couple of hours later on the same day, I got a call from them stating that since it is a weekend, they cannot hold the table till 9 PM and requested if I could come at 7:30 PM and that they will hold the table for us till 7:45 PM, to which I replied ok and that We will be there between 7:30 and 7:45 PM.
Next day at 7:15 PM, before starting out, I called them to confirm that we will be reaching by 7:35-7:40... The guy bluntly said they cannot hold the table till 7:45 and that they now have people "waiting outside in queue". I lost it and asked him to cancel the reservation. Bloody hell, what does " people waiting outside in queue" have anything to do with my advance reservation???
Do your own words have no value, honor or meaning? Or do you need to be told what "reservation" means? Please tell your fellows to look it up in the Oxford Dictionary if your guys do not understand the meaning of the word!
What is ironic is that there are small shacks selling food on the Panambur beach who have a far better customer centric approach to customers. They are far more welcoming and they are willing to do everything they can to make you comfortable in the little space they have. May be your "big A/C restaurant on the beach" can depute your people to such shacks to make them understand what customer service is.
If you guys do not know how to hold reservation that was made in advance and arrival was well within the promised time, why do you guys take reservations? You guys are turning yourself into a laughing stock in Mangalore. More and more people are finding out about how overrated you are and what kind of a sham you guys a running in the name of a restaurant on the beach!
Thank you for ruining our evening and shame on you people! You guys will not last long in the business with this attitude, poor customer relationship management and arrogance of yours. JOKERS!!!!
EDIT: these guys seem to have a scripted reply which promises improvement, copy/paste for every negative review. But the numerous negative reviews prove they are not serious and their main target are the one time tourist visitors to Mangalore and Panambur beach. Locals who know the truth about this pathetic , sham of a restaurant, will never...
Read moreThe food was good overall. Detailed review below:
Tomato Soup – Nice flavor. They only gave bread crumbs when we asked, so I’d suggest asking for them upfront. 8.5/10
Chicken Manchow Soup – Really good, highly recommend. 9/10
Chicken Malai Tikka – A little too sweet for my liking. Not bad, but I wouldn’t order it again. 6/10
French Fries – Pretty good. 7.5/10
Babycorn Papdi – Didn’t work for me. The batter was so strong I couldn’t even taste the babycorn. 4/10
Butter Kulcha – This was a big letdown. Cold, hard, and genuinely felt cardboard-ish. Couldn’t enjoy it at all. 2/10
Butter Naan – Total opposite of the kulcha. Hot, soft, buttery, and just perfect. 10/10
Chicken Kolhapuri – Excellent! Spicy, flavorful, and good in quantity (3 of us shared easily). 10/10
Creme Brulee – Sadly, the worst dish of the list. The texture was like refrigerated butter and the taste was a little underwhelming. Also, there was no caramelized sugar on top. 1/10
Biscofi Creme Icecream – We ordered ice cream but got a cheesecake instead. The cheesecake itself was really good (9/10), but since we wanted the ice cream, it was disappointing. For us, 6/10.
Service: It was raining when we reached the place and they got an umbrella to take us to the restaurant from the parking space. That was really sweet.
The staff were polite and friendly, but the service was quite slow. Our babycorn starter took around 45 minutes to arrive.
I didn’t appreciate how, when we pointed out that we had ordered Biscoff ice cream, we were simply told that the cheesecake is “just as good". Along with that, I also didn't like that the water in the finger bowl was barely lukewarm.
Since it was a busy Sunday, I’ll give it 6/10.
Ambience: Beautiful place, and the live singing added a lovely touch to the experience.
Overall: Good food with some hits and some definite misses, nice ambience, and okay service. Unfortunately, I didn't click any pictures of the food.
For me, it felt like a 3.5/5 experience. Since I can’t give half ratings and there were some positives, I’ll...
Read moreI am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Le Sparrow Beach Resort. On August 10, 2025 at approximately 1:20 PM, my family and I visited the restaurant, and the service was lacking. The staff opened the door for other families but not for ours, which was a clear sign of poor service.
The cleanliness was also a major issue; the plates had scratch marks, insects were flying around the table, and there were burnt marks on the table. The waiter's apron was visibly dirty. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the staff was not attentive.
We ordered a variety of dishes, including Chicken Manchow Soup, Butter Naan, Paneer Butter Masala, Chicken Urval, Chicken Biryani, Squid, Peach Sparrow, Packaged Mineral Water, and Ghee Jalebi Rabdi,(Bill No. 7419). Unfortunately, the quality of the food did not meet expectations, and some items were undercooked or poorly prepared.
The most frustrating thing is that, We were enjoying the outdoor dining area and taking photos near a large frame. After taking pictures on the beach and standing within the roped-off area, we tried to re-enter the restaurant compound to exit through the main door, as other customers were doing. However, security stopped us and questioned and treated us with suspicion, being asked 'aap log restaurant se kya?' and we were directed to leave by ducking under the rope and exiting through the beach access. This felt like an unnecessary inconvenience, especially since other customers were allowed to exit through the main entrance, and it was quite insulting.
Overall, I would not recommend this place and hope the management addresses these...
