Extremely Disappointing Experience – The Worst Maiyas Branch I’ve Visited I had high expectations when I stopped at Maiyas Restaurant inside the Highway Star Food Court on the Bangalore–Tirupati Highway. Having dined at other Maiyas branches before, I assumed this would be a safe and satisfying lunch choice — but unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. We ordered the South Indian thali, which was shockingly disappointing from the very first bite. The food was incredibly bland, extremely oily, and lacked any of the freshness or flavor typically associated with South Indian cuisine. The rice was overcooked and soggy, the sambar was watery and tasteless, and the vegetables were greasy and over-seasoned — if seasoned at all. Even the basics like chutney and rasam, which are usually reliable, tasted off. The curd was sour, the papad was stale, and the dessert felt like an afterthought. Everything on the plate felt mass-produced and thrown together without care or consistency. It was clear that quality control and authentic taste have been completely compromised at this location. The thali didn’t feel like a wholesome meal — it felt like a punishment. I honestly struggled to finish even half the plate, and that says a lot for someone who enjoys South Indian food regularly. Adding to the disappointment, the service was indifferent and slow, with zero concern shown even when we pointed out the poor quality. The ambiance of the food court was lively, but none of that mattered once the food came to the table. I truly regret choosing this place for lunch. If I could leave a negative rating, I absolutely would. This branch does a great disservice to the Maiyas name, which is otherwise provides an okay-ish lunch experience. Do yourself a favor and skip Maiyas at Highway Star. There are far better options inside the same food court. This was a complete letdown, and I would never recommend this branch to anyone.

Hotel Review: Disappointing Dining Experience I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, the dining experience fell far short of expectations. The cost does not align with the quality of food served. Both the vada and idli were not hot and had a distinct sour taste, indicating they were likely from the previous day. This is unacceptable, especially for a place that charges premium rates. The service was equally disappointing. Despite being the only guests in the restaurant, it took an unreasonably long time for them to prepare a dosa. When it finally arrived, it was the worst dosa I’ve had in all of South India – bland, poorly cooked, and a complete letdown. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic and enjoyable South Indian meal. For the price they charge, they need to seriously improve both their food quality and service standards.

Most of the review you read here is directed to whole place and not just this restaurant. The place is really good. But the restaurant's service and food was sub-standard and it taste nothing like it should be. The restaurants's service was real bad. Just to get rice for south Indian meal we have waited for quite some time. We ordered naan, 3 north-Indian curries, The taste was really poor. The curry wasn't even worth 50RS. Really disappointed with the curry. Also the size of the naan and roti. It was so small. I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Particularity, when there are other options available in the same premises. This highway stop looks great with really good amenities like clean washrooms and baby care room and little play area as well.

Beware of Exorbitant Charges and Below-Average Taste at Maiyas Restaurant Pvt. Ltd. – Highway Star

Recently, I had a disappointing experience at Maiyas Restaurant Pvt. Ltd. – Highway Star, which I feel compelled to share for the benefit of fellow travelers and food lovers. While the restaurant presents itself as a premium highway stop, the reality is far from expectations.

The pricing is outrageously high for even the simplest of dishes, and sadly, the taste does not justify the cost. For a place that charges a premium, one would expect a high standard in both food quality and service – neither of which were delivered. The food was bland, served lukewarm, and lacked the authenticity and flavor one might associate with the Maiyas brand.

What’s even more concerning is how such pricing affects the average traveler or family looking for a decent meal on a long journey. It’s disheartening to see such businesses taking advantage of their location to impose unreasonable charges, offering substandard meals in return.

It’s no surprise that the restaurant appeared largely empty during my visit – a clear sign that others have also recognized the poor value offered here. In times when customer satisfaction and affordability matter more than ever, places like this end up alienating the very audience they aim to serve.

My sincere advice: Avoid such restaurants that prioritize profit over quality and fairness. There are plenty of local eateries and dhabas nearby that offer far better taste, reasonable pricing, and a more heartfelt experience.

Let’s support businesses that respect their customers and deliver on quality...

HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED..i remember those old days waiting in a long que for lunch in the main branch.. hoping for a same experience dropped in to this branch on a highway ..Had been here for lunch 26/10/17 with family.. they didn't have North Indian lunch.. neither did they have any fruit juice.. finally I settled for lime soda and orders for South Indian lunch each costing 180 plus tax.

Rice was cold and sticky.. food was of poor quality.. they didn't get my lime soda order in spite of repeated reminders. Finally got it after my meal.. I sent my family out and stayed for the Bill.. after the bill payment , I noticed other customers getting ice cream and fruit salad with the meal ..when I enquired they had forgotten and offered to pack it to carry it home on a highway.. I refused and left the place.. they had no regrets , no apologies.. they were around 8 waiters for 4 tables, still poor service..

Hope the management keeps an eye on this branch before they lose their...
