I recently visited the Malgudi Coffee Shop in Mysore, and I must say that it was an incredible experience. The coffee shop is named after the fictional town of Malgudi, created by the legendary Indian author, R.K. Narayan. The cafe has captured the essence of this fictional town in its decor, ambiance, and menu, creating a unique and delightful experience for visitors.
The cafe has a charming and cozy atmosphere that is perfect for relaxing and enjoying a cup of coffee. The walls are adorned with colorful murals depicting scenes from the Malgudi stories, while the furniture and lighting give the cafe a warm and welcoming vibe. The cafe is spacious, and there is plenty of seating available, making it ideal for individuals, couples, or groups.
The menu at the Malgudi Coffee Shop is extensive and features a variety of coffee-based drinks, snacks, and desserts. The coffee is exceptional, and you can tell that the baristas take pride in their craft. I tried the classic filter coffee, and it was undoubtedly one of the best I have ever had. The snacks and desserts were also outstanding, with a good mix of traditional Indian and Western options.
What sets this cafe apart is the attention to detail in everything they do. From the decor to the food and the service, everything is top-notch. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to help. They take the time to explain the menu, suggest items based on your preferences, and engage in friendly conversations.
The Malgudi Coffee Shop is also reasonably priced, and you get excellent value for your money. The cafe is open from morning till late evening, making it an ideal spot for breakfast, lunch, or an evening coffee.
In conclusion, I highly recommend the Malgudi Coffee Shop to anyone visiting Mysore. The cafe offers an unparalleled coffee experience in a warm and welcoming ambiance. The attention to detail in everything they do, from the decor to the food and service, is outstanding. I would give this cafe a well-deserved 5-star rating, and I look forward to...
Read moreBeing a localite in Mysuru, me and my friends like to explore cafes and meet for coffee often.. we visited this place yesterday and boy we were disappointed and shocked that this place has so many good reviews. The ambience- this is probably the only plus in this place.. and why it attracts crowd. It has an old world charm and beautiful old furniture and aathangudi tiled floors. There are 2 seating areas . One is right in front of the counter. Being summer and mysore is extremely hit right now there is no fan or AC in this area . So after we ordered our coffees and the hyped lemon drizzle cake we wanted to move to the place with fans. This place is a self service cafe and there is no help moving your food. We really don't mind carrying our food but the coffees were hot and we found it inconvenient. The tables aren't cleaned or cleared on a regular basis. Food- lemon drizzle cake was extremely sweet and wasn't something we enjoyed. Filter coffees were good. Cappuccino was mediocre, egg and mayo sandwich and mango milkshake was barely edible. Hospitality- they should improve this a 1000folds! Since we moved they sent someone twice to check on us and asked to pay the bill. I understand that we weren't sitting in the vicinity of the cashier and they must have had people walking away without paying earlier or something. Then please just change your billing method, just tell us that we have to pay when we place each order. That would save a lot of awkwardness to the staff and the customer. Maintainance- this place needs a good makeover with some clean linen and new menus. Won't be going...
Read moreWe were tired and only cold coffee could save us. At that moment, I recollected, let’s go to Malgudi Coffee Shop & Bakery, I saw this cafe on twitter in someone’s trip itinerary, and thought of giving it a try. It’s a cute little cafe residing in Green Hotel Mysore. The cafe gives a glimpse of 80’s house, where you have an open aangan with plants and sitting area around it. Cafe has its own bakery, where you get various types of cakes and pies! We tried jalapeño poppers, tomato mozzarella pesto on, mushroom cheese & mayonnaise sandwich, cafe latte & chocolate ice cream milkshake! Chocolate ice cream milk shake could have been better, rest was upto the mark! We simply adored the taste of bread, it was tasty, and it tasted delicious with mushroom cheese & mayonnaise, the sandwich was so good, that I will try it personally at my home! Only negative point was, mosquitoes, they were in abundant near at the tables. The staff should do something about it. Well, will come back again to try cakes and pies next time! It was a pleasant experience other than the...
