Been here last evening while driving to my Village from Bangalore. Located right next to BP Petrol Pump after Yediyur and just before Bellur Toll Plaza, it can be easily missed out if you are speeding on the highway as it doesn't have any big sign board right next to the highway!
The atmosphere is calm, neat and open! The restaurant is ideally located far enough from the highway to avoid noise & pollution. It has a good paved parking space which can accommodate the weekend crowd easily.
It has seating options of both inside and outside. It has decent seating capacity outside as well as inside. There is a small confectionery store inside which sells MTR products as well as ideal ice cream. Since they didn't have AC on during my visit (during Summer Evening), I felt comfortable sitting outside. The stone top tables and the furniture are identical to the other branches.
I ordered their signature dishes like Masal Dose, Plain Dose, Bonda Soup, Cold Badam Milk & Grape Juice. Masal Dose & Plain Dose was good but not as great as it used to taste in Original MTR. Texture was nice, chutney, palya were good but sambar wasn't that great. However, it's unique and at par with other dosas available on this highway. Bonda Soup was good. Cold Badam Milk & Grape Juice had that MTR signature taste in it.
The service was really really good. Stewards attended us quickly and the food was served on time. They were well mannered and the overall hospitality was good!
They do accept all kinds of digital payments including cards. The hand wash area & toilets were clean and the overall hygiene of the restaurant was good.
According to me, the price doesn't justify the taste. Yet, considering the calm environment and the neat rest rooms, I can recommend this...
Read more🌟 A Delightful South Indian Culinary Experience at MTR - Hasan Road 🌟
During our recent family trip to Chikmagaluru, we had the pleasure of visiting the MTR outlet on Hasan Road, and it turned out to be a hidden gem! 🍽️
MTR is already well-known for its legendary Dosa, and it absolutely lived up to the hype—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly made. The menu is limited, but every item is crafted to perfection.
🔹 Morning Breakfast: We tried the Mini Breakfast, which included Idli, Vada, Dosa, Upma, Kesari Bath, and Coffee – a wholesome, satisfying start to the day. All the South Indian classics are available in the morning, and everything was fresh and delicious.
🔹 Lunch: They offer only two Thali options for lunch – no North Indian dishes – but both are authentic and fulfilling.
🔹 Evening & Dinner: Expect a return to South Indian favorites like Akki Rotti, Ragi Rotti, Dosa, Savige Bath, and more. Ideal for anyone who loves traditional Karnataka cuisine. 🌾
🚗 Facilities: A big plus is the spacious parking area and electric car charging points – very thoughtful and convenient for travelers.
📍 Though it’s about an hour’s drive from Nelamangala, it’s totally worth the visit if you’re a fan of classic South Indian food in a clean, well-maintained setting.
✅ Highly recommended for families and food lovers looking for a calm stopover with quality food and...
Read moreWe stopped at MTR for breakfast, on the way to Hassan from Bengaluru. Food - For three people, we ordered: Rava Idli - 1 big rava Idli, came with sagu and chutney. Superb!!! The Idli batter is seasoned generously with mild spices and herbs. Soft and delectable and comes with a side of melted ghee, plus sagu and chutney. One vada and Idli dipped in sambar combo - Very good Poori - 2 big pooris with potato sagu and chutney. So good! Pooris were perfectly crisp and soft at the same time. Not too oily Bisibelebhath - The absolute BEST bisibelebhath I have had in a long time. It cane piping hot, topped with a small container of ghee and a side of onion raita. The spices, tamarind, vegetables and rice were perfectly balanced. A dish that you CANNOT skip at MTR. Coffee - Strong and flavorful filter coffee!
Service: Quick and efficient.
Ambience: I was super impressed with how clean the restaurant was kept. The scenery outside is beautiful! They have tables set up on the patio, definitely try to get a table outside and enjoy the lovely view while you dig in.
I would strongly urge you to stop here if you are passing through Hassan on the way to Bangalore or if you are headed to Hassan/Mangalore/Udupi from...
