Been here on 5/12/2020 , it was too packed. Not sure how they cleaned the table and seats during covid season. Visited this place just to eat the sakleshpur famous akki rotti , but they try pushing you towards akki rotti meals which costs on higher side than plate akki rotti. Curry came with akki rotti was too spicy. Akki rotti was thick and uncooked at some parts. Hadn't expected such a famous item of sakleshpur went wrong in this famous highway side restaurant. Wouldn't recommend this place anymore. Been here earlier too a few years back. But the quality is just reducing...
Read moreThis restaurant's USP is its location. This is on the highway just before the Shiradi Ghat from Sakleshapur to Mangalore. Since you won't get any decent food for about 2 hours, many would prefer to munch something before descending the Ghat or to take a break soon after ascending it in the other direction. The quality of food and service is average while price is not. I tried the akki rotti a couple of times and was not impressed. It was a bit colder and hard too. Some food items are just horrible, like the fruit juice or coffee.
Don't go near the handwash, repulsive smell from the toilet that will make you throw up.
If you are looking for an early morning sober breakfast, go turn towards the Hanbal road from the main Mangalore highway. 150/200 meters down that road, you will find a small hotel on the left side serving some of the staple breakfast dishes.......
