Embarrassing event—a gathering marred by deceit and exploitation.
This review follows our frustration with the venue's lack of a feedback channel to the owner, and we hope that no one else will have to endure this ordeal.
Hosted birthday party for approximately 110 guests. We arrived on time and were greeted with disorganization as seating arrangements were still being finalized. The discomfort was compounded by the sweltering heat, prompting numerous requests for the air conditioning to be activated.
Welcome drinks were nowhere to be found, after numerous requests only one juice dispenser was begrudgingly provided. It became a scavenger hunt to locate the elusive waiter for drink refills, as only one staff member seemed to be perpetually disappearing.
During the cake cutting ceremony, our disappointment grew when we learned there were no plates or cutlery available. We had to improvise with paper ice cream cups, and we ended up distributing the cake ourselves, a task that should have been handled by the waitstaff.
The ordeal continued as it was time to distribute the starters. Shockingly, the staff refused to serve them, insisting that all guests must be seated before they would commence distribution. It was impractical and unreasonable to interrupt the guests with this absurd demand, we reluctantly resolved the issue by urging guests to help themselves at the serving counter. This unnecessary drama further soured the atmosphere and added to the overall sense of disappointment and frustration.
When the lunch counter opened, guests couldn't help but ridicule the situation as they noticed the ridiculously small chafing dishes, barely enough to feed ten people before running out. Instead of promptly refilling them, we were left chasing down the manager for more food. It became clear that this delay tactic was intentional, aiming to discourage guests from eating. Many felt uncomfortable waiting in line like beggars for food, leading some to give up and leave hungry, adding to the overall disappointment and dissatisfaction.
Amidst the chaos of ensuring our guests' comfort and navigating the disarray, both ourselves and several guests found ourselves inadvertently deprived of lunch. To our dismay, upon finally attempting to grab a bite, we discovered an appalling scene: waitstaff indulging in our meal, while the counter had been abruptly closed without any notification or announcement. This disrespectful act further compounded the frustration and disappointment of an already poorly managed event.
We agreed to purchase beer from them and bring our own hard liquor, paying a gratuity of RS 800.00 per bottle. To our surprise they refused to put the liquor bottle on the counter giving some stupid reason about election regulation and we immediately knew this is the stealing tactic they were using, it was the 28th of April and all bars were open, this was a stupid reason they were giving us. We had to agree to whatever they said because all this was happening in front of the guests and was embarrassing. And as expected towards the end only a little left in the one brand.
Music was provided with technical shortcomings with input options limited to coaxial only, depriving us of any control over the playlist.
As the event reached its conclusion, the final blow came when we settled the bill, only to discover yet another instance of deceit: an overcharge based on plate count rather than the agreed-upon headcount. Despite confirming attendance of 110 guests, we were billed for 130, an unjustifiable surplus of 20 plates. This discrepancy resulted in an inflated expense of 17,000.00 rupees (calculated at 850 rupees per plate), adding insult to injury and leaving us deeply disheartened by the entire experience.
In retrospect, this party, once anticipated as a memorable celebration, was marred by incompetence and deception. It's an experience we're eager to...
Read morePegs and Kegs Restaurant in Mysuru is, without a doubt, one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've ever had the misfortune of enduring. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a regrettable evening.
Firstly, the ambiance was dismal. The restaurant seemed like it hadn't been updated since the 1980s. Tattered wallpaper, dim lighting, and a general lack of cleanliness made for an unappealing atmosphere. It felt more like a run-down dive bar than a place to enjoy a meal.
The service was equally abysmal. The waitstaff appeared disinterested and inattentive. It took ages for them to bring us menus, and when they finally did, they got our orders wrong not once, but twice. Our drinks were served warm, and we had to constantly flag down servers just to get a glass of water.
Now, let's talk about the food. I can only describe it as a culinary catastrophe. The menu promised a range of dishes, but what we received was a far cry from what was advertised. The ingredients tasted stale, as if they had been sitting in the kitchen for days. The flavors were bland, and the presentation was uninspired. It was evident that no care or passion went into preparing these dishes.
To make matters worse, the prices were exorbitant for the quality of food and service we received. It felt like a complete rip-off, and I left the restaurant with a bitter taste in my mouth – both figuratively and literally.
In conclusion, Pegs and Kegs in Mysuru is a restaurant to avoid at all costs. The dingy ambiance, terrible service, and subpar food make it a regrettable dining destination. Save your money and your taste buds by choosing a different restaurant in the area. You'll thank yourself for avoiding this...
Read moreLocated at a strategic place on the main road. It looks small only until you walk in. It just opens out into a large seating area for the restaurant...and further inside are the rooms. The restaurant has these massive screens that make it a perfect spot for any sports fan to hang out while watching the game. There are water features and plants around making for an aesthetic setting. You have the option to sit indoors or outdoors in the midst of the plants. I went for dinner and has a nice experience under the starry sky. The menu consisted of the usual pub fare of starters. But I will comment about the taste which was anything but usual. It's among the top when it comes to taste. The Pegs n Legs spl mocktail was a great accompaniment. Moving to the Margherita pizza...mmhmmhmmm... that's kinda how I would describe it if I didn't have to write in words. It's among the best pizzas I've had in a long time. Delicate crust, gooey cheese, chilli oil and basil....wow!! If I am in Mysore again, I am going back only for this pizza. The biryani that followed was good. The Paneer khurchan was creamy and yummy. And finally for my dessert...brownie and icecream. It's one of those combinations that never disappoints. The brownie was RICH. The chocolate syrup was heavenly. And the ice cream just made the whole thing heavenly. This place is definitely recommended for anyone that wants to have a gastronomically delightful experience. Loved it, will go back...
