Sagar Ratna Vegetarian Restaurant Ujire Dharmasthala — Restaurant in Karnataka

Have been here a number of times.I celebrated my birthday with family & friends here in this restaurant, that I visited for the first time. The ambiance is nice & attractive though not looking extravaganza. The birthday dinner ordered was served at ease. We were 12 people. The tastes of every dish were tasty but a little more spicy than expected. Mocktails like strawberry punch, virgin mojito, lemonades are good for thirst though expensive (in Ujire) but serving glasses were quite ordinary like soda sharbat glasses served at road side cold drink shops, this has to be improved here. Starters like baby corn tikka, harabhara kabab & veg platters were tasty but a little more hot. The main course as usual is like a couple of different dishes were good. One thing I never liked are Roti's, Nan's. If you finish it in a couple minutes its OK, otherwise it will become rubbery & can't eat. Veg normal Biryani was at its best. Desserts OK.. In route from Ujire to Dharmasthala on the left hand side just before Sdm naturopathy College and Cafe Coffee Day inside the ocean, pool is a nice vegetarian restaurant called as Sagar Ratna. Good amount of place for party and nice ambience. The staff is very and the food is also great. Among all the food we had I saw feedback about the coffee and I definitely agree with that the coffee which is served by there is just amazing. There is a new dish I saw called as bucket Dosa, which was nice as well, decent prices and definitely a place where you can try different vegetarian options

We were welcomed into the restaurant by irate customers. That should have been our clue to leave the place. We decided to brave it and that was a huge mistake. The food was extremely average, nothing seemed fresh. We ordered Masala Dosa, Puri, Idli, Upma & Poha, a tea and a cup of coffee. The food took more than 40 mins to arrive. With 2 young kids in tow it wasn't an easy wait. After the really long wait you would expect the food to be tasty but it was at best average.
