Along with a family, I visited Pattadakal recently. We were witnessing the beautiful Unesco World Heritage Site till the closing hours. Once we were out, we were looking for tea and snacks. Then we found 'Shri Mahakuteshwara Hotel' diagonally opposite to the Pattadakal entrance gate. They prepared tea as per our taste and we savoured the taste of mandakki as well. Since we didn't wanted to wanted to wander around much for dinner, we asked the owner Mr Mallikarjun if he can prepare dinner for us. We went there as a group of 50 people on a study tour to Pattadakal and saw the place right outside the monument. We placed our order for lunch and went for siteseeing. When we came back after an hour and a half, we were served the best meal of our Karnataka trip only for Rs 90 per person.
