As frequent visitors to Upadhya Veg Hotel, nestled on the Chitradurga-Hiriyur bypass, our experiences have been nothing short of exemplary. This esteemed establishment has become a regular stop for us, thanks to its dedication to delivering an outstanding dining experience.

The Masala Dosa here is unparalleled, with its crispy exterior and richly flavored filling, making it a culinary highlight and a must-try for anyone visiting. It’s a dish that perfectly encapsulates the essence of traditional South Indian cuisine and is a testament to the chefs’ expertise.

Beyond the Masala Dosa, the hotel offers a menu that resonates with the warmth of home-cooked meals. Our parents, in particular, have expressed a fondness for these dishes, highlighting their authentic taste and comforting appeal.

For those seeking a refreshing break, the tea and coffee served are of exceptional quality, offering a perfect blend of flavors to rejuvenate the spirit of any traveler.

Our culinary adventure extended to the Chinese cuisine offered at the hotel, and it was a delightful surprise. The dishes were a flavorful testament to the versatility and skill of the kitchen staff.

Must-Try Menu Items:

Masala Dosa: A signature dish that is a symphony of flavors and textures. Idli & Vada: Soft, fluffy idlis and crispy vadas, served with fresh coconut chutney and savory sambar, are a breakfast favorite. Thali Meals: A comprehensive meal offering a variety of vegetables, dal, rice, chapati, pickle, papad, and a sweet dish, providing a taste of traditional Indian cuisine. Filter Coffee: A classic South Indian coffee that is rich, frothy, and intensely aromatic. Gobi Manchurian: A standout from their Chinese menu, perfectly crispy cauliflower florets tossed in a tangy and slightly...

The location of the restaurant is very convenient on the highway, approachable from either direction. If you're heading away from Bangalore, there's a convenient U-turn to get into their parking. Though there's ample space for cars, it was not sufficient and some had to park by the side of the busy highway. A very busy place, very popular, one has to wait until a table is vacated to occupy it. No help from the staff to guide you to an empty table on first come first basis. It's more like if you find an empty table it's yours though there may have been people waiting before you for an empty seat. Service is reasonably quick, no frills, you just eat and vacate your seat quickly to make place for the next customer. If you want to relax after a long drive, you probably have to do that in the car park and watch the windmills turn. Food is average in taste served hot, dosa was crispy, so was the vada (crispy skin, succulent inside)
