Went there last week with family and had the worst experience ever. I was the one who recommended the restaurant to my family based on Google reviews and they all blamed me for this. We sat in the resturant and waiting for about half an hour for the waiter/waitress , then we enquired at the counter and waitress came, she told that only dosa is available and we ordered dosas and tea since we were hungry for long, she went to the kitchen and we waited for more than an hour, people next to our table were as restless as us, we saw one of the customer walking back to the table from outside and my uncle told "i think people are thinking of cooking their own food as if we are trapped in an island, let's go to some other resturant" and my father told "let's ask in the counter if we can order from some other place and eat here, the atmosphere seems to be nice here though" and few minutes later our dosas arrived and it was so bad, we ate somehow because of our hunger, as we finished our food my uncle commented "let's buy a lock and gift them, it would definitely benifit people" then the tea arrived and it was the worst ever, felt like vomiting after first sip and we decided not to have it, we asked in the counter for the reason for all these and the lady said that they didn't have enough staff that day and their only waitress was also cooking, their dosa batter was spoilt and they had to prepare a new one after taking orders, we told them that they could inform this to us before hand. I really had to post this, i think this review will benefit any one who decides to visit...
Read moreThis is a rare gem kind of vegetarian restaurant in this stretch as it would be very difficult to find a pure veg restaurant in the surroundings.
I was here during lunch hours and surprised to find that dosa was available at that time of the day. However, I ordered Onion Uttappam & Ghee Roast Dosa. Both the dosas were tasty and the textures were so true to its nature. The chutney felt very fresh and accompanied the dosa well. Both the Dosa were more on Tamil Nadu style. Nevertheless, it definitely exceeded my expectations.
The service was good. Though they took more time than I anticipated to deliver food to my table, I duly understand that making dosa at an odd hour takes some extra time. However, the service was very friendly and humble.
When it comes to Ambience it's basic yet feels royal. Maybe because of the furniture. They have two sections in the restaurant. One with the air-conditioner and another without the air-conditioner.
The hygiene was satisfactory all over the restaurant. They do accept cards & UPI payments.
Highly recommended if you are looking for a pure veg restaurant in the...
Read moreBeen a resident of Palakkad and Thrissur for the past 12 years and have tried lunch at many restaurants and hotels, but the lunch I had at Ahaar was just too good. For a price of Rs. 110 the food was just wonderful. The rice (ponni) was well cooked, neither over cooked nor half cooked. The sambar, and Vattal kuzhambu was fantastic and served hot. Rasam was just brilliant, just like a typical brahmin kalyana rasam. Buttermilk was too good (not too watery or curd like. Vegetables served were all of good quality. The service persons were well mannered and proactive. Overall, a very good experience. I came out of the hotel with a Niranja Manasu and Vayaru. Would request all veggie lunch lovers to try this place once and I am sure you would love it. Kudos to the management and of course to the chef in charge of the lunch. All the very best. Oh Yes, I forgot to tell you that I had even taken home a parcel of vattal...
