Restaurant Review: Mixed Bag Dinner Experience
I recently had dinner at a restaurant, and while there were some highlights, there were also a few disappointments throughout the meal. Let me provide you with a detailed review of my experience:
Our dinner comprised of puttu, appam, kadala curry, veg stew, malabar chicken, and karimeen polichathu. Starting with the puttu, it was satisfying and paired well with the kadala curry. The combination of the two offered a pleasing taste.
However, the appam fell short of expectations. It had a sweetness that was a bit too pronounced for my liking. The excessive sweetness compromised the overall flavor balance and made it less enjoyable.
The veg stew, unfortunately, turned out to be a disappointment. It lacked the taste and depth that one would expect from a well-prepared stew. The flavors didn't come together harmoniously, resulting in a subpar experience.
Moving on to the malabar chicken, it was just average. The chicken itself was not as juicy as expected and appeared to be slightly overcooked. While the curry had an okay flavor, it didn't leave a lasting impression.
As for the karimeen polichathu, it also fell into the "just okay" category. The masala used in the dish didn't complement the fish as well as anticipated. The flavors didn't harmonize perfectly, leading to a lackluster experience.
In terms of service, it was satisfactory, with no major issues to report. However, I do wish that the server had informed us about any specials or noteworthy dishes that might have enhanced our dining experience. Such information would have been valuable in making informed choices and exploring the restaurant's offerings more comprehensively.
Overall, my dinner experience at this restaurant was okay. While the puttu and kadala curry combination stood out, the appam's excessive sweetness and the disappointment of the veg stew were notable drawbacks. The malabar chicken and karimeen polichathu also didn't reach their full potential in terms of flavor and execution. The service, though acceptable, could have been improved by providing more information about the specials or noteworthy dishes.
In conclusion, there is room for improvement for this restaurant to elevate its dining experience. Fine-tuning flavors, ensuring consistency, and enhancing the service by offering valuable insights to customers can go a long way in creating a more satisfying and memorable...
Read moreI recently visited Avees Restaurant, and unfortunately, my experience was less than stellar. Despite the promising ambiance and acceptable customer support, the food left much to be desired.
We ordered a variety of dishes, including Appam, porotta, beef roast, duck mappas, and chicken curry. While the Appam and porotta were decent and met our expectations, the curries severely disappointed us. The beef roast, duck mappas, and chicken curry lacked flavor and were bland, leaving us unsatisfied. It was as if the dishes were missing the essential touch of spices that make Kerala cuisine so special. We couldn't discern any distinct tastes or flavors that would make us want to revisit this restaurant.
The ambiance of the restaurant was okay, with a pleasant atmosphere that provided a comfortable dining experience. The seating arrangement was decent, and the decor was simple yet inviting. The customer support was also satisfactory, with the staff being attentive and responsive to our needs.
However, the primary reason for visiting a restaurant is to enjoy delicious food, and Avees Restaurant fell short in this aspect. The lack of taste and flavor in the curries overshadowed the positive aspects of our visit. If you are looking for a dining experience that excites your taste buds and leaves you wanting more, Avees Restaurant might not be the best choice.
In conclusion, Avees Restaurant offers an average dining experience with decent ambiance and customer support. However, the lack of flavor in their curries is a significant drawback that would make it difficult to recommend this place to others. I hope they can improve their recipes and deliver a more satisfying culinary experience...
Read morewe had a bitter experience last week when we made this wrong decision to have breakfast from their Thiruvalla outlet. We were travelling towards Ernakulam for my sister's wedding. I had called up the restaurant the previous noon to reserve the seat for 18 people. the person picked up the call confirmed the food will be arranged at the said time. he said they will have puttu, appom and string hoppers available. We reached the restaurant at 8.10, and occupied the seats. As we have less than 30 mins to finish the breakfast and push off for the wedding, we expected someone will come over and take the order. 10 minutes after seated, no one bothered to take the order, hence I went up to the cashier to ask whats happening. Suddenly the chap at the cash counter stood up and with a rude tone asked me what is the problem. I told him about the call I made the previous day, and we have very less time to head for the wedding. The bride along with the parents were waiting for the food. We managed to send the bride and parents immediately, and rest of us continued at the restaurant, as we had invited relatives and neighbours who needs to be served with the food. There were only 2 suppliers in the restaurant to serve in 12+ tables that day. It took them 1 hr 20 mins to get the food for 16 people, and by the time rest of us reached the wedding, it was almost over. We will never visit or recommend the restaurant to anyone, as they don't know the value of time, and no respect to the customers. I missed to attend my sister's wedding coz of their ignorance, and...
