CALICO CUISINE — Restaurant in Kerala

It was a wonderful experience for my entire family (me, my wife, her aunt, my daughters (one studying and working in the USA and the other studying and working in Germany). Sitting at a small cottage like beautifully designed structure (6 chairs a centre table and a roof) facing the river, the cool breeze from the river gave it a relaxing mode. The owner of the property was kind enough to stand beside us chatting with us. A down to earth professional cum business man made our evening even more wonderful. The person who came to take our order for the dinner was too polite and understanding the taste of the customers. The food was delicious and we enjoyed every bites of it with utmost pleasure. The place was almost empty and thus made us a feel that we are sitting at our own restaurant and tasting the world class delicacies at an amazing ambience of our choice and taste.

Let me just remind you all one important thing that makes this place unique “unlike other restaurants you can’t just go order and eat” the food is prepared only after taking your orders which means the waiter will come where you are sitting and ask you what you want to eat. Once you place order the same will be given to the cooks and they will start preparing. If you order fried fish the waiter will take you inside and show you the available fishes and you can choose the one you want to eat. I chose hamour fish for us; he weighed it infront of me before gave it to the kitchen. So make sure that you have at least an hour to relax and experience the ambience before you get your food on your table.

Ladies and gentlemen, I recommend this special restaurant to one and all. Also they have facilities for small gatherings (birthday parties, meetings, etc.). Located at Kallambara, Feroke, this is a must place to visit. My experience was indeed the best at this place both in terms of the ambience, customer service and food. The location is great. In hot summer, mid noon was very pleasant. The breeze over the river made it so. It was a sunday afternoon, and wanted to spend 2-3 hours. The waiter was polite, but pushing for lunch order, though i ordered 2 mint lime juice & a fish fry. Which was good. Then came the fish curry meals. At Rs.60/- i had my doubts, if it will be good. The fish curry was a coconut curry with no flavour of fish, though it had 2 tiny pieces of fish. They are on the highway and having problems getting customers. There was a group of 20+ . Wonder that kind of food was served to them. Sure if they charged 100- 150 for a sunday special lunch, with a big board out side, i am sure they will get more customers Very Nice place. Need to...
