Feedback on Paragon at Aster Medcity
Paragon is a well-known and respected name in the food industry, and there's no doubt that the taste of their food lives up to the reputation. I've had meals from both the café and the restaurant multiple times, and the food has consistently been delicious.
However, a great restaurant experience is not just about taste—it also depends heavily on the quality of service. In this area, there are several aspects that need improvement:
Service Efficiency: The speed of service is often disappointing. On one occasion, I had to request my tea twice before it was served, and I noticed a similar experience with a guest at the next table who was still waiting for coffee after finishing his meal. While not all staff are inattentive—some are quite service-oriented—there seems to be inconsistency in training and responsiveness.
Pricing & Accessibility: The food is quite expensive, and with limited dining options nearby, many people—patients and bystanders alike—are left with no alternative. While paying in advance is acceptable, having to go to the counter again to add something to the order is inconvenient, especially in a hospital setting where time and comfort matter.
Seating Arrangement: During peak hours, it becomes difficult to find a table. Most tables are set up with four chairs, often occupied by solo diners, which leads to inefficient use of space. Adding more two-seater tables could help accommodate more guests and reduce wait times.
Given the premium prices charged, the overall dining experience should be more seamless and customer-friendly. With some improvements in staff training, service speed, and table management, Paragon can truly match its food quality with equally high...
Read moreBeing the only option for patients and visitors of Aster Medcity Kochi might have made the staff or management arrogant.
Pathetic service by the staff at the Paragon Annex(basement floor).
When the queue was very long (8-10 people), the staffs at billing counter were talking to each other and billing very casually.
Only one counter was operational, the person at the second counter was counting the cash. When asked why the second counter is closed during such a rush hour, they mentioned it’s closing time (time was 5:05 pm, not sure when their shift ends, but being an outlet open 24 hours, customers should not have to suffer due to their internal matters)
When I was at the back of the queue there were banana fritters in the display, as I reached the billing counter only 2 were left. The reason why I waited in the queue so long was because my 1.5 yr old baby wanted to have a banana fritter. The guy at the counter without even looking at the display said the ones left are already billed. I considered it my unluck and ordered something else. But after 15 mins when we finished eating what we ordered, the banana fritters were still on the display. I asked about it, and the response I got was someone from another counter might have ordered it and he doesn’t know anything else all in a very arrogant tone.
Well all these things can happen at a restaurant, but the way your staff communicates it, should be taken care. Train your staff some COMPASSION.
Getting this treatment from a restaurant which is in the TasteAtlas list, whose website says “ Heart to Heart Servings In the Business of Happiness” is a huge...
Read moreTwo months ago I had a very disappointing experience from here and I had put a negative review.
I am not sure if they made any conscious effort to improve or I just got lucky, this week I received exceptional service from here.
Food taste, presentation, quality and quantity were all impressive.
Let it be egg hoppers and stew for breakfast, Fish steak, seafood coriander soup, tomato soup or tawa grilled Hamour, every thing was perfect in every sense.
Hence I feel I should edit my original review.
Edited: This is a reasonably good restaurant considering its location inside a hospital. It’s clean with sufficient tables. Food is also OK… but
Being a Paragon patron since childhood, this was a disappointing experience.
At first I tried Porotta beef roast. Beef roast fell short of expectations. Masala dosa for breakfast was mediocre. I thought it’s also fine as Dosa has never been their strong suit.
Then I thought of trying Biriyani as this can never go wrong in a Paragon outlet. Unfortunately both rice and prawns were under cooked. Rice lacked any flavour of Biriyani rice and tasted like plain ghee rice. When I talked to waiter about this, he said prawns Biriyani is like that only.
I have been to different Paragons, Salkara and MGrill. Never been disappointed like this before.
Restaurant is still good but I guess they should rebrand to some sister brand if they can’t do justice to the...
