Food Lounge Restaurant — Restaurant in Kerala

On the way back from Vythiri, Wayanad, we planned to have our breakfast. Looking out for options not knowing the best one for having a decent breakfast we started enquring with locals and were suggested to visit Food Lounge Restaurant. This was easy to locate on Google maps. We found parking space just outside the restaurant which is located inside a shopping arcade. The ground floor houses their bakery section while the restaurant seating is on the 1st floor. Unfortunately we didn't have enough options as it was already nearing 11 AM. So we were the second group in the restaurant and had ample of options to choose our seating. After settling down in the center which accomodated 9 of us comfortably, we asked for breakfast options and we choose to go with Malabar porotta (lachcha paratha), chicken curry and mackerel fish curry. Tea and coffee were pretty decent and coconut milk shake was good. Porota was crispy and well done. The food was a good fill and left us satiated. The owner belonges to Panoor so could connect easily as we also hailed from their neighborhood town. Hence hel0ed us wee bit in getting quicker deliveries. Point to note is by the time we ordered restaurant was full with more guests and almost didn't have any more seats left to accommodate more people. Today, we had dinner and ordered half a portion of mandhi rice. Quarter alfahm chicken and a quarter of pepper alfahm. While eating, I noticed that the alfahm chicken was not properly cooked and tasted like raw meat. The other portion was cooked well. I requested the waiter to either replace it with a properly cooked one or serve me regular mandhi chicken instead. They provided a chicken that I suspect had been tasted by someone else and returned, which left us thoroughly disappointed for the entire day. I ordered Ful-Am-Manthi briyani. Before ordering that guy said it will be tasty because of Arabian style manthi briyani.

We thought it would be like Sea shell and Palmshore hotel taste manthi or even much better when compared to them.

But I was really disappointed because the rice was not cooked properly and there was no masala on that briyani.

Really I don't know the taste of this hotel Manthi briyani. Maybe the taste was really awesome for that area. I'm not sure. If any one knows about this hotel or taste here please share your inputs and feed back.

Pomperet fish briyani was simply awesome and the taste was very good.
