We went during March. The lotus pond was one of the attractions from insta ivideos but there was no water due to the summer but the place in nice and have plenty of greenery. You can even sit outside with Umberlla shades, family huts,or even tree shades. Coming to food ,its a luck for your King Fish thala curry. SOMEDAY ITS fresh and great someday its not. During the first visit, it was ok. The dish was not hot but tasted nice. But carefully, it's spicy. The avoli fry is also nice. Kappa and Prawns fry is also good. Coming to the toddy,The Nadan Cheth Kallu, which is 200 per L, almost in every Toddy shops is the greatest highlight. I was surprised .it's the best you get in kollam compared to nedungollam, kollam,or even kariyilakallu. Kudos to that. The service is OK only. From the other reviews, you already know it. The bald gut who takes order from huts mainly is having attitude and shade of anger.maybe its because he is dealing drunkards all day but its a family restaurant too. No one goes there to see his attitude..otherwise worth visit even for the chetth Kallu alone..

Good food, was extra spicy (as it serves a particular purpose) and tasty with good quality. The price felt like it was on the higher side. The ambience was nice and there were families with kids coming to dine. There are separate hut areas for dining and a common area for food or toddy consumption. We ordered rabbit roast, pork roast and squid (kanava) fry with appam and kappa. Service was good and well behaved. There is ample space between huts and other dining areas for people to have enough privacy. I don't know more about the toddy there as I went there to have food. Overall I liked the parlor and the ambience. Would recommend trying the dishes there.

One of the hidden gems of Varkala if you'd like to get away from the bustle of the cliff side. The food is awesome, the ambience serene and the host is a charmer. There are family sections where you can safely sit with your significant other and enjoy what this awesome place has to offer. In the menu, there are, among other things, pork, tuna, squid, snail, buffalo meat and liver and fish head. There are ducks in the pond that you can choose to fry. The toddy is sweet, well filtered and delicious, served by the gracious host with black raisins in an earthen matka. Definitely a place to visit on your trip to Varkala.

The place is really good it comes very affordable the Prawn fry is only cost hundred rupees and it comes in a lot of amount. The place is situated in a remote location was reviewed my many TV reality shows cooking shows also. I went there with my cousin to try out some beef fry and some Toddy Toddy for one bottle cost only 50 rupees I believe it is natural toddy. I would really suggest you guys to visit this place for a good time they have great sceneries also you should surely with this remote enabling location and by the way the the road in front of this place is not that good is so broken I don't know why they are not fixing it but they should fix it because...
