Β Β Β Read moreYesterday I visited this hotel. We were participating in an exhibition at Adlux Convention Centre near Angamali. Being vegetarians we were finding it difficult to locate good vegetarian hotels as it is a curse in Kerala.....to be a vegetarian... people seem to eat only nonveg here!!..and not heard of curdrice or Idli or Pongal or Kichidi. Yesterday due to religious reasons I wanted to avoid onions and alas....not a single hotel serves food here without onion or garlic!!! I ran from hotels to restaurants only to find that people were looking at me funnily!! I stepped into this Aryas located at about 3 km from Adlux.around 1115 in the forenoon....I asked for onion free food and as usual they could not provide. I asked for curd rice and they said it would be ready only by 1 p.m. I told them that I did not have anything since morning and asked them whether they can provide me with at least curds? By that time an elderly man with a turban...the chef...came to me and asked what did I want. I told him my plight. He said he would make curd rice specially for me without onion if I can wait for a while. I waited in suspense as how the curd rice would taste in this 'Gods own country' To my pleasant surprise.......In about 15 minutes I was served with a curd rice matching the quality of what we make at home with fine amla pickle and a great Narathangai pickle.
I had a great brunch and a good curd rice after a long time.
I profusely thanked the chef..Sri.Nagaraj a wonderful person who was empathetic with me. I requested him to keep two plates aside for afternoon and he agreed. Later on we once again visited the hotel in the afternoon and hogged at the curd rice once again! Our stomachs full as also our minds!!
Thank you...
